One of the highlights of our Lake Como trip
We booked the three-hour private classic wooden boat tour with Lake Tour Bellagio, and it ended up being one of the absolute highlights of our time on Lake Como. Our captain, Luca, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job tailoring the three hours around what we were interested in rather than simply following a scripted sightseeing route. We’re big James Bond fans, so we specifically wanted to see some of the Lake Como locations from Casino Royale, and Luca made sure we saw them. We also explored Bellagio, Varenna, Nesso, and numerous villas and beautiful spots around the lake. The classic wooden boat itself was gorgeous and added enormously to the experience. We had already explored some of Lake Como by car and ferry, but seeing it from a private boat is an entirely different experience. You get perspectives of the towns, mountains, waterfalls, and villas that you simply cannot appreciate in the same way from land. We debated how long to book and found three hours to be an excellent amount of time. We were able to cover a surprising amount of the lake without the experience ever feeling rushed, while still having plenty of time to simply cruise, enjoy the scenery, and relax. A private tour is obviously more expensive than taking the ferry, but for us it was absolutely worth it. If we had another full day on Lake Como, we would genuinely be tempted to spend it back out on the water. Highly recommend Lake Tour Bellagio, and especially Luca. If you’re trying to decide whether to splurge on a private boat while visiting Lake Como, this is an experience we would absolutely do again.

Great from start to finish
We had a three hour boat tour with Luca from Lake Tour Bellagio. It was amazing from start to finish. He picked us up at our hotel (a few minutes early) and off we went. His knowledge of the area was great and he allowed us to dictate what we wanted to see while giving us incredible local knowledge. Couldn't recommend this trip any more. It's a must do while in Lake Como.
