Unlike large commercial venues, we focus on creating an authentic atmosphere where guests can learn the meaning behind each movement and appreciate the spirit of Japanese hospitality. The tradition of tea ceremony in our family has been passed down through generations, and I learned the practice from my father. During the experience, you will observe a tea ceremony demonstration, learn about tea utensils and etiquette, enjoy seasonal Japanese sweets, and prepare your own bowl of matcha. You will also have the opportunity to experience tea utensils that have been carefully preserved within our family, offering a connection to Kyoto's living traditions. Suitable for both beginners and those with a deeper interest in Japanese culture.

Very informative and fun. Location made it that much more compelling. We booked it last minute, but would recommend booking in advance.

Unique experience in an intimate setting
Fantastic experience in Kyoto, super informative with an authentic feel. The tea master had so much focus and precision, it was like watching black belt martial arts of tea. Learned a lot about matcha history and got detailed explanations of what was happening from his very friendly and highly knowledgeable assistant. 10/10 recommend!

Manabu-san the tea master, and his assistant Paul were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the tea ceremony. We learned a lot while at the same time, they were very welcoming and patient as we are newcomers! Would recommend this as an activity for first-timers in Kyoto!

Lovely Tea Ceremony
Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our tea ceremony. All staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. We were assisted with our kimonos and with every step of the ceremony. And our older group appreciated the chairs. Thank you for a memorable experience.

Everyone should do this.
This experience was enjoyable and very different to anything Iv gone to before. I was not expecting it to be so calming and spiritual and gentle.
