Best Character Ever! Will Book Again!

Fantastic Birthday experience fishing with Captain Brian and RJ! Took 4 adults and 2 Kids (11 and 5), we had a wonderful time hanging out all together. The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed their music choices! We did end up catching a Marlin that put up a heck of a fight, but I have to say I was very impressed by the crews calm, controlled, and quick response to the fish hit. They got me in the chair and gave me clear precise directions that landed us the beautiful marlin! We will 100% rebook with this captain again for our next charter experience!

350+ lb Blue Marlin on Bite Me 6 — Best Day of Our Kona Trip!

If you’re looking for a Kona sport fishing charter, stop scrolling and book Bite Me 6. We fished out of Honokohau Harbor with Captain Brian Harnden and Captain RJ Berger, and it was hands down the highlight of our Big Island vacation. Clean, fast boat with top-notch gear. Brian and RJ had us on the fish quickly — great communication before the trip, on-time departure, and constant coaching once the lines went out. When the reel finally screamed, they walked us through every second of the fight. The result: a 350+ lb blue marlin. Absolutely insane. Arms on fire, adrenaline everywhere, and the crew cheering as loud as we were. They got great photos and video for us too. What set this charter apart was how much fun the captains made it — genuinely good guys who know the Kona blue water better than anyone. Family-friendly, patient with beginners, and 100% worth the price. If you want a shot at a Pacific blue marlin, ono, mahi mahi, or ahi, ask for Bite Me 6. Mahalo Brian and RJ — crazy fun day!

    5 Stars – A Must-Book Charter in Kona!

We had an amazing time with Captain Brian on the Bite Me 6 and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Kona. I was a little nervous taking my young boys offshore for their first experience, but Captain Brian was fantastic with them from the start. He was patient, friendly, and made them feel like they were part of the crew instead of just passengers. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and wants everyone on the boat to have a great time. To top it all off, he put us on a beautiful yellowfin tuna. Seeing my boys’ faces when that fish hit and getting to experience it together as a family is a memory we’ll have forever. There are a lot of fishing charters to choose from in Kona, but if you’re looking for someone who is great with families, knows where the fish are, and makes the day fun from start to finish, I can’t recommend Captain Brian and the Bite Me 6 enough. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Hawaii. Mahalo for an unforgettable day!

    Absolutely Amazing Experience!!

There are not words to describe just how great our day was with Captain Brian, RJ and Landon. Our family was visiting from Texas and from the time we boarded until the time we returned back to the dock, Captain Brian and RJ treated us like family and friends. Captain Brian operated his boat with the utmost professionalism, but is so personable and helpful at the same time. RJ is the most down to Earth and knowledgeable dude on the island, and coupled with a little “Landon Luck”, we reeled in two wahoo and a trophy Blue Marlin that Brian helped to arranged mounting and shipping. We can’t recommend Bite Me more, and if you have the opportunity to request your Captain and crew, ask for Brian and RJ. You’ll have the time of your lives, guaranteed. Thank you guys!!

Response from the operator: I love to read this!! Captain Brian is known to show people a great time. Congratulations on the catches! Ono is my personal favorite fish to eat so hopefully you were able to enjoy that. Mahalo for coming out with us. -Aloha

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Big Island of Hawaii.

How much does Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6 cost?

    +

Prices start at $1044 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Island of Hawaii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6 take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Big Island of Hawaii is not rushed.

Is Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6 worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Island of Hawaii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6 suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Island of Hawaii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Island of Hawaii and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kona Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing Escapade on the Bite Me 6 start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Big Island of Hawaii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

The Big Island is volcano country: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tours, Mauna Kea summit stargazing, night manta ray snorkels off Kona, Waipio Valley lookouts and coffee farm visits. Summit tours have real altitude rules, so we weight safety detail. On Outty we rank every Big Island of Hawaii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include KONA Manta Ray Night Snorkel - FREE re-ride if no Sightings, Big Island: Captain Cook Snorkel On A Power Catamaran With Lunch, Big Island in a Day: Volcanoes Waterfalls Sightseeing and History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

April to October, though the island runs year round. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Big Island of Hawaii?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
