Traditional activities in a backwater village
We had a pleasant time. First of all a boat ride in a green and quiet. Many birds. Then on our return we discover all the activities related to palm and fishing. Villagers are present to show us how to make coconut fiber rope, coconut milk, rice flour, cigarettes etc... Then a little snack before leaving. I really advise

Everything has a use in the coconut
Everything was so interesting and the artisans were so friendly and helpful with our questions. William was a perfect guide for these few hours between boat rides, coconut artisans and visiting the garden filled with orchids.

A Fabulous Experience in Kochi
We really enjoyed our time in the village. My husband and I were treated to several hours seeing authentic elders from the village showing us their different skills, plus we were paddled in a canoe and learnt so much about life as it was. An added bonus was looking at a beautiful garden where they supplied a fabulous lunch, sat by the water. The owner of the garden graciously showed us around and seeing the orchids growing was a real treat. Thank you so much.

A piece of paradise
By boat we went to the village, and we were very warmly welcomed with a coconut drink. We could watch different activities like fishing, making baskets, ropes from coconuts and palm leaves and many more. Everything was so interesting and the artisans were so friendly and helpful with our questions. All was followed by a wonderful tasty meal for us on beautifully prepared tables by the sea. The grounds are very well maintained. The plants like Orchids I can only see in botanical gardens where I come from. For me it was a piece of paradise. I am very fortunate to have seen it. Thank you for having us. It is a must see while being in Cochin.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your wonderful experience with us. We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed every moment of the village tour—from the boat ride and coconut drink welcome to the traditional activities like fishing and basket weaving. Our artisans will be so pleased to know their efforts made your visit memorable. We’re especially glad you loved the meal by the sea and the vibrant surroundings, including the orchids. Nature’s beauty is something we’re proud to share with our guests. Your description of our village as “a piece of paradise” truly warms our hearts. Knowing that we could be a highlight of your time in Cochin means so much to us. Thank you once again for visiting and for your thoughtful recommendation. We’d love to welcome you back anytime.

A piece of paradise
This is pure paradise. Firstly we have seen many activities, been shown how they use coconuts in many ways. It is so interesting, everyone was so happy and explained wonderfully. Such hospitality. We had also a beautiful lunch. The grounds are like a botanical garden in our country. Orchids, trees, palms. Wonderfully maintained. A little piece of paradise. Everything was perfect and we felt so welcome and looked after. Thank you so much for having us. I can only say it is a must to see this.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kochi.
How much does Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour cost?
+
Prices start at $61 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kochi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kochi is not rushed.
Is Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kochi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kochi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kochi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kochi,Kumbalangi village tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kochi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kochi?
+
On Outty we rank every Kochi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Local Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour, Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour, Kochi Sightseeing Tuk-Tuk Tour with Pickup From Cruise Ships. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kochi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kochi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
