Best Guide and Amazing Experience
Wonderful tour with Collins took us through Kibera community and the life of the people there. It’s amazing to see how people have been able to make a living. We went on Boxing Day, the kids were playing in the streets and happy. Highly recommend Collin, he is Knowledgeable, passionate and patient. He went an extra mile and made sure we were safe during the tour. God bless him and bless the people of Kibera.

Fantastic.
An incredible tour led by knowledgeable local guides. Collins and his give a fantastic insight into the history of Kibera, introducing you to those that live there now, and explaining their vision for the future. I would highly recommend and I will be taking more friends and family back to Agape Hope.

Incredible experience!!
Collin’s was our tour guide and made us feel right at home. He grew up in the community of kibera and works very hard to improve his local community by helping those in need. He took us through the kibera slum and introduced us to many locals along the way. We felt completely safe and welcome for the duration of the tour. We had to the opportunity to meet some of the children that have been given a place to study and read as a part of his program. We were also able to meet some of the coaches that help to run a soccer program for kids that are not usually given this opportunity. We truly felt like we were part of the family with Collin’s as our tour guide and I can’t recommend this tour enough. It was an eye opening and touching experience to tour the slum and to see a local community member so motivated and devoted towards helping those less fortunate.

Eye-opening and awe-inspiring experience
Incredible experience! Collins takes you on a tour of one of the largest slums in the world, giving you a glimpse of what life is like there. He grew up in Kibera and regards everyone in the community like family. It was inspiring to see what he’s done there and all that’s left to do, in a place of such poverty. If you get the chance, I would strongly recommend you take this tour with Collins- you will learn a lot and your visit supports a community in need!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kibera Chocolate City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does Kibera Chocolate City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kibera Chocolate City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is Kibera Chocolate City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kibera Chocolate City Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kibera Chocolate City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kibera Chocolate City Tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kibera Chocolate City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
