My wife, son and I booked a 4 hour salmon trip. The van picked us up by our ship. Joann was very responsive to voicemails and had Trish meet us early with the van so we could get to the marina, fish and get back to the cruise ship on time. Trish was friendly and willing to share her very interesting life experiences in Alaska. Our captain, Austin, was friendly, helpful and most importantly, put us on fish! He knew what he was doing and where to find our target species. Fishing with Austin was like hanging out with a fishing buddy, except he did 90% of the work which I'm not used to. This was my and my family’s first private fishing charter. It was a great experience and will leave lasting memories for our lifetimes! That being said, it is expensive but no more expensive than other private charters. I would suggest that anyone looking to book do your research on the time of year you're fishing and read recent fishing reports. If the fishing is good, book it. This is how I fish locally even when going out on $100 party boats. If the fishing reports are not good, you're more than likely going to spend a lot of money and be disappointed with poor fishing. With that info in mind, I would highly recommend Oasis Alaska Charters. Thank you Austin for a great experience!
Response from the operator: Wow that is an amazing day! We are so glad you enjoyed the charter and also caught fish!!

Great trip with Oasis Charters and guide Danny
Five of us booked two Full Day combo trips through Oasis Charters and Danny was our guide and he did an excellent job. He knew where the fish were and put us on them both days. The boat was nice, the equipment in great condition, and we enjoyed fishing with Danny. We all brought home lots of fish and hope to come back soon. Highly recommend this charter and this boat captain.
Response from the operator: Awesome to hear!!! We are so glad you had a good time out fishing with us!! Hope you enjoy your catch!! Look forward to seeing you up here again!!

First Trip with Oasis
My first trip with Oasis, was way more than I expected. Everything went smooth and was first class. When I return to fish Alaska it will be with Oasis. Our Capitan Danny was excellent, kept us smiling and fishing. Danny was one of the many things that was more than expected.
Response from the operator: That’s awesome to hear! Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the trip

Fantastic Fishing Trip in Ketchikan with Oasis fishing charter.
This was a fantastic family fishing trip. The operator went out of her way to help us enjoy the trip. Our guide knew where and how to catch salmon. We had kids with us, and the guide really helped them to enjoy the fishing. We caught 23 salmon but would have enjoyed the trip even if we had caught fewer fish. I recommend this company to everyone that enjoys fishing.
Response from the operator: Thank you for that! We are so glad you enjoyed your charter, and caught fish!!

Unforgettable experience
Hands down the best time! From our shuttle driver Trish to Our Captain Austin, both were amazing! We had limited time due to our cruise and he went above and beyond to get us as much Salmon in the 3 hours we had. Within 15 minutes of putting in the first line, Fish on! So much fun! Another check off our bucket list! Thank you for an unforgettable experience ❤️
Response from the operator: That is amazing!! We are so happy you enjoyed your charter out with Austin!!

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.
How much does Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters cost?
+
Prices start at $615 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.
Is Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 110 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters?
+
Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ketchikan Salmon Fishing Charters start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?
+
Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?
+
May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ketchikan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
