Fishing Grand Slam! Excellent Charter!!
We booked (2) 10 hour Halibut/Salmon combo trips and Captain Drew did NOT disappoint! From the 1st morning through the 2nd day he had us on the fish. Oasis Fishing Charters was able to provide us a GAF tag so tha we were able to keep a 48 inch 50lb Hali. We basically had a fishing GRAND SLAM on day 2. Pretty much caught everything possible with limits. (Coho Salmon, Halibut, (1) King Salmon, Yellow Eye Rockfish, Yellow Tail Rockfish) Captain Drew worked really hard making sure we always had lines in the water. I've fished several times in Alaska in different regions. (Seward, Hoonah and Sitka) I have NEVER had the success nor have I seen a Captain work as hard as Captain Drew! I'm already working on dates to go back. I highly recommend Oasis Fishing Charters. The ownership of the charter (Joanne & Mark) bent over backwards for me. Prior to the trips they were very accommodating and answered questions for whenever I had one. They also made sure I had a GAF tag as requested. Thank you Captain Drew, Joanne and Mark! I will see you next season!
Response from the operator: That is awesome Mark! You were a pleasure to work with and we are glad you enjoyed your charter out with us and hope to see you all again next year!! Enjoy your catch!!

Halibut and Salmon Fishing!
From my first text to our final good bye at the port, this was a first class, top notch operation. Every question ease responded to quickly and with kindness. Prices were clear and easy to understand and we would book it again if we return to Ketchikan. Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience ❤️
Response from the operator: Thank you so much!! We are so glad you enjoyed your charter out with us!!

Great Alaskan fishing experience
We did a 4 hour trip off our cruise ship. Joane did a great job managing the overall process and picking us up from the port and getting us back with plenty of time to spare. It was a relatively short ride from the dock and Captain Drew had us on the halibut within minutes. We even had an eagle following our boat! It was an overall great Alaskan experience and exactly what we were looking for!
Response from the operator: That’s great!! We are so glad you enjoyed your charter out with us!!

Perfect Fishing Experience!
Great communication with clear instructions ahead of trip. Easy communication the day of trip getting to the shuttle. Super captain/fish guide who had the perfect balance of knowledge and experience plus asking for our feedback to provide a customized fishing excursion for us. It was a truly perfect 1/2 day of fishing!
Response from the operator: Fantastic!! We are so happy you enjoyed the trip out!!

Best Fishing Trip
Had the best time on our fishing trip with Captain Dan. He was great with the girls who had never gone fishing before. Will definitely take another trip when we go back to Ketchikan.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.
How much does Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters cost?
+
Prices start at $715 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.
Is Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 61 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ketchikan Halibut Fishing Charters start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?
+
Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?
+
May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ketchikan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
