Fantastic Private Tour with Dimitris

Spend a Day with a Local and See All The Best Spots
Dimitris was an excellent guide, the ride was comfortable and very nice, and he really tailored it to spots we hadn't been to and things we really wanted to see. We stopped at the Drogarati Caves, Melissani Lake and Assos for lunch. Everything was absolutely stunning and I would say the roads and stops are precarious enough that we appreciated having someone drive for us. 10/10 Would recommend!

Disappointed
Difficultly booking, email confirmation was sent that morning which gave a different time, eventually got it sorted then received alternative information again. The driver after 10 mins was very uncommunicative, he put headphones in which was a surprise as from previous excursions booked through aviator on other countries it was a wonderful opportunity to learn lots about the area we visited and none of us came away feeling we had achieved that from the half day excursion. One of the party was motion sickness, the roads are windy and mountainous but he drove faster than required and didn’t slow down when we communicated the issue. The trip also said bottled water would be provided but again it wasn’t. Disappointing especially in consideration of our prior experiences of excursions in other areas.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify a few important points. This was a last-minute booking, made while we were still arranging availability. The 09:30 time selected through Viator had not been confirmed by us. We contacted you immediately to explain that the only driver available at such short notice could meet you at 11:30. After communication with you and Viator, you agreed to 11:30 and we accepted the booking. We therefore did not simply change a confirmed pickup time. Regarding motion sickness, the driver was driving at a normal speed appropriate for Kefalonia’s winding and mountainous roads. Once you informed him of the problem, he slowed down and also suggested that the passenger sit in the front seat, which can help with motion sickness. You chose to remain in the rear, which he respected. We were also surprised by the comment that the driver was uncommunicative. Our information is that he was helpful, provided information and asked during the tour if you needed anything. He did have to answer two urgent phone calls. Interestingly, when he met two members of your party at the airport the following day, they told him they had had a really nice time. Regarding water, the driver asked if you needed anything and would have been happy to stop for refreshments had you requested them. We respect that every guest has different expectations, but we felt it was important to provide the full context for future travellers. Beautiful sites. The cave was awesome but very short. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long to get on the boat to explore the cave, about 20 mins versus 2 hours that some people may have had to wait.

A wonderful way to discover Kefalonia – one of the highlights of our cruise!
We visited Kefalonia as a family of four during our Mediterranean cruise, and this private tour became one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, we really appreciated how attentive they were to our requests. In particular, they arranged an Italian-speaking guide for us, which made the experience so much more enjoyable and meaningful. We were not simply driven from one place to another: our guide accompanied us throughout the day, telling us about Kefalonia, its history and the places we were visiting. This allowed us not only to see the island, but also to understand and appreciate it. We visited Drogarati Cave, beautiful Antisamos Beach and the magical Melissani Lake. Everything was very well organized, yet flexible enough to make the best use of our limited time ashore — something extremely important when travelling on a cruise. We never felt rushed, and by the end of the day we felt that we had truly discovered a little piece of Kefalonia rather than simply visited a few tourist attractions. Kefalonia completely won our hearts and became one of our favourite destinations of the whole cruise. We only wished we could have stayed longer! We wholeheartedly recommend this tour, especially to cruise passengers looking for a well-organized, flexible and genuinely personalized experience.
