Trip of a lifetime, I cannot recommend them enough!

I did 3 private tours with Kartveli the week of 7-12 November 2023, the Kazbegi tour, Vardzia tour, and Prometheus Cave tour. Saba was my guide and Malkhaz was my driver for all 3 tours and I cannot recommend them enough! I had an amazing week where everything went perfectly and there were no issues whatsoever! All 3 tours were very interesting with great stops and gorgeous views. Additionally, as a woman travelling alone, I never had any issues with anyone anywhere, it was very refreshing! Beka was super responsive and very helpful when answering all of my questions before booking. Saba is incredibly knowledgeable in history and culture and was very easy to talk to. Being a history and archeology nerd myself, I was very happy that Saba was a PhD archeology student and we could talk about nerd stuff together! Malkhaz is a great driver and is very kind. They made a great team and were even nice enough to get to know me and my interests and would suggest other things to see or places to go that I might like. It honestly was like going on a road trip with friends. The only thing is, since the tours are so long (which is fine), make sure to bring snacks for dinner for the drive back to Tbilisi, or try and stop somewhere for food on the way back. I stayed at the Folk Boutique Hotel which is a little further from most things so getting dinner was kind of a pain, so it would have been nice to stop somewhere along the way. However, I definitely could have asked them to stop but I didn't, so that's on me because I know they would have. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Kartveli, Saba, and Malkhaz and will absolutely book with Kartveli again!

    Outstanding!

This was the second time that we used Kartveli Tours and once again it was quite simply outstanding - from start to finish. We took day tours - Kazbegi Adventure and the Kakheti Wine Tour - and had a wonderful time. The tours themselves were supremely professional and, being there during Covid, all health and safety measures were strictly adhered to. We are already looking forward to our next trip!

    Incredible!

We took a day tour to Kazbegi in July and it was unforgettable! We were picked up promptly from our hotel and visited some spectacular locations including a stop for paragliding. The dinner was amazing with lots of options and an amazing view. Beka our guide was incredible. He was patient, articulate and gave wonderful insights into Georgian history and culture which enriched our experience. Also, he is an excellent photographer and knew the best spots for pictures. Prior to the tour, communication was so easy and swift. All our questions were answered in great detail. We honestly fell in love with Georgia and cannot wait to be back!

    Wonders near Gudauri

Despite the fact that I booked the tour off-season in summer I was contacted very fast and all details of my booking and trip were provided so diligently. Even photos of pick-up car and location. We enjoyed wonderful tour to Kazbegi and to other miscellaneous and interesting sights. Our guide Malkhaz who not only drove us to these places but also waited patiently while we were visiting these historical places. We felt completely free and all our inquiries were satisfied at once. Thank you again for such great experience!

A fantastic day out in the mountains!

I don’t normally book tour guides, but I’m so glad I went to Kazbegi with Tamo on this private tour. It was great to have our own comfortable SUV and driver, and Tamo was a great guide— very friendly and helpful, with lots of background on each place we visited. Felt like spending the day with an old friend! Lunch was INCREDIBLE, with a full spread filled with tons of classic Georgian dishes— the perfect thing on a cold, snowy day. One of the best meals I during my stay, too (I am still dreaming of those fresh Khinkali dumplings, omg...) We also had panoramic views over the mountain scenery as we ate. I really enjoyed both church visits, and it was great to be able to spend as long or as little as we liked at each location with the flexibility of a private tour. I saw other groups being herded onto mashrutkas and I was happy we had a more relaxed, tailored experience! All in all, highly recommended. I would book another tour with the company in a heartbeat! Thanks Tamo :D

Response from the operator: We are very glad to hear you had a great day! We treat our guests like family and it's words like these we try so hard for! Thanks again for your trust in our company and our guides! Kind Regards, Kartveli Tours Team

Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tbilisi.

How much does Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass cost?

    +

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tbilisi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tbilisi is not rushed.

Is Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tbilisi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tbilisi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tbilisi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kazbegi Adventure - Private Day Trip From Tbilisi with a Dinner + Masterclass start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tbilisi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tbilisi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tbilisi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tbilisi:Evening Walking & Talking Tour with Wine & Boat Ride, Tbilisi:Mtskheta,Jvari,Bazaar, wine tasting,Chronicles of Georgia, Kakheti Wine Region Tour + 10 Premium Wine Tastings & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tbilisi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tbilisi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
