Fantastic day touring the North Shore!
From the minute Elizabeth picked us up at our hotel in Poipu, we knew we chose the right tour guide. She is so warm & friendly and her roomy vehicle so comfortable. Her local knowledge made the tour so interesting & fun, stopping all along the way to get beautiful photos of this gorgeous island. The day was planned perfectly with the right mix of sightseeing, a little shopping, and lunch at the restaurant where George Clooney filmed a scene in the movie “The Descendants.” We appreciated how flexible Elizabeth was, customizing the tour to meet our wishes. And her delicious chocolate chip banana bread was the cherry on top! We had the most wonderful day touring this beautiful island & feel like we made a new friend in Elizabeth. Highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Aloha 🌺 So grateful you took the time to share this beautiful feedback. I’m happy the day flowed just right and that you enjoyed the scenery, local stories, and those little touches along the way. Thank you for choosing to explore Kauaʻi with me and for your generous recommendation. I truly hope our paths cross again. Mahalo Nui Loa, Elizabeth Kauai Luxury Tours

Kauai Luxury Tours - Amazing day!
After our original tour cancelled on us, we were extremely lucky to find Kauai Luxury Tours. Communication from Elizabeth was very efficient from the first point of contact. And then we had the most amazing day visiting the sites of the North Shore. Elizabeth is very knowledgeable and informative, not only about Kauai, but also about the other islands, which we appreciated, especially coming from Australia. Her car is extremely comfortable to travel in and she made our first day on Kauai a very memorable one. We highly recommend Elizabeth.
Response from the operator: I'm so glad the timing worked out and I got to show you around! It was such a fun day exploring the North Shore with you, and I loved sharing a bit about Kauai (and the other islands, too!). Thanks so much for the kind words—it means a lot, and I hope to see you back on Kauai someday! 🌺✨

Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore & Waimea Canyon
Our week on Kauaʻi was already special but Elizabeth McGlone of Holomua Luxury Tours spun it into pure island magic. Each morning she picked us up in her SUV at our Kekaha VRBO right on time; each afternoon she delivered us back home. In between, she wrapped us in the aloha spirit, insider knowledge and laughter. On April 1 Elizabeth steered us first to ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls, where she provided cat treats so our ten year old son could feed the kitten that patrols the lookout guardrail. This was a huge hit and it set the whole tone for the day. At Kīlauea Lighthouse Elizabeth surprised us with her delicious homemade banana bread. Her thoughtfulness and timing made the experience very memorable. Next we visted the terraced slopes of Limahuli Garden, alive with stories of Polynesian voyagers and modern conservation. Lunch was Elizabeth’s suggestion but at our own pace: she dropped us at Tahiti Nui in Princeville, let us linger over fish tacos and drinks, and re-appeared the moment we texted “ready.” The previous day a string snapped on my son’s ukulele and Elizabeth was very accommodating. On our ride back home to Kekaha we stopped at the Kamoa Ukulele Store to get it replaced. Our family truly appreciated Elizabeth’s flexibility because it saved us from having to take an additional trip back to Kapa’a. Two mornings later on April 3, the weather turned sulky over Waimea Canyon, cloaking the rim in drizzle and mist. Despite the very poor visibility Elizabeth was able to make the experience fun. On the grounds of Kōkeʻe Lodge we fed the chickens racing across the wet lawn before we ducked inside for an exceptional breakfast. By the time we eased down to Hanapepe’s bridge-spanning streets, the clouds had lifted just enough for gallery-hopping and souvenir shopping. Elizabeth’s flexibility, humor, and quiet generosity stitched the memories of both tours together: kitten treats at a waterfall, banana bread on a lighthouse bluff, a spontaneous ukulele rescue, canyon rain turned to rainbow magic, and jokes that kept every age smiling. If you’re marking a milestone, traveling with kids, or simply craving an insider’s lens on Kauaʻi, book Holomua Luxury Tours. Elizabeth will handle the logistics, and—if a string snaps or the weather turns, she will have you tuned up and grinning before the next rainbow appears. Every penny felt well spent; every moment already feels priceless. A few days after our tours we bumped into Elizabeth at a local restaurant. It felt like seeing an old friend. Book with Elizabeth you won’t regret it!
Response from the operator: Aloha and mahalo nui loa for your wonderful review! I truly appreciate the time you took to write such kind words! It was truly a privilege to be part of your special celebration. It was such a pleasure to meet you, your beautiful family, and friends. I also thoroughly enjoyed hearing James’ ukulele tunes in the back — what a treat! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share the island with you, and I look forward to the chance to meet again if you ever return to Kauaʻi. A hui hou! 🌺 — Elizabeth

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.
How much does Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa cost?
+
Prices start at $1100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.
Is Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kauai Private Guided Tour to Northshore from Poipu/Koloa start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kauai?
+
Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kauai?
+
April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kauai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
