Highly memorable Lantang Valley trek
My friend and I had a great experience with HRA. This is my 2nd time on a trekking trip with them and the trip affirmed the high regard I had for this company. Booking and operations were smooth throughout and the itinerary as well as questions answered by Prakash were prompt and helpful. Transfers to the start of the trek were also carried out smoothly. Ganesh our guide was fantastic. He took time to ensure our safety and explained traditional Nepalese culture and plants around us. He took care of our needs and checked on us to ensure we were comfortable. He even cooked some vegetables for us for one of our meals. We also had a reliable porter in Prabat who ensured that our heavy belongings were carried safely from lodging to lodging and served us our meals as well as fruit during dinner. He even pointed us in the direction of a herd of deer on a slope which made our experience even more unique. All in, I would highly recommend HRA for value for money as well as the quality of service. Thank you to all who have been a part of this journey.

Incredible 10 day trek around Langtang valley
Planned a beatiful 10 day trekking featuring the Tamang heritage trek and Langtang valley. The company was incredible trough out the booking process, listening to my requests and adapting the trip to my desires. Once the trip started the organization was flawless; from the pick up, to the equipment, to tea-houses. The guide Sandip Aryal was both very professional and also great company during the trek, which since I was travelling alone was a big plus to the whole experience. His years lf experience in these valleys were key during the trip, as he was able to slightly modify the plan based on weather/conditions, always ensuring we could get the most out of the trekking while also having time to enjoy the rich local culture. Also the porter ramesh was very friendly and professional in the whole trek, we really made a strong trio!!

Highly recommended HIGH ROUTE ADVENTURE
A highly recommended HIGH ROUTE ADVENTURE for those seeking a more challenging experience. Our group of 6 (EBC) was guided by Kim and Prakash, both very experienced mountain guides. They provided excellent, high-quality service throughout the journey. The porters were also experienced, attentive, and took great care of everyone in the group. The teahouses arranged were comfortable and of good quality, making the overall experience even more enjoyable..
Response from the operator: We’re truly happy to hear that you had an amazing 14 Everest Base Camp Trek with High Route Adventure. It’s great to know that Kim took good care of you—he really is a fantastic guide, and we’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. We’re glad you enjoyed the best tea house accommodations, the breathtaking mountain views, and that Langtang gave you memories to cherish for a lifetime. Creating comfortable, safe, and memorable journeys is exactly what we aim for. Thank you for trusting High Route Adventure. We’d love to welcome you again for your next adventure in Nepal—maybe another hidden gem of the Himalayas 🌄

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kathmandu Valley Trek: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Kathmandu Valley Trek cost?
+
Prices start at $283 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kathmandu Valley Trek take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Kathmandu Valley Trek worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kathmandu Valley Trek?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kathmandu Valley Trek suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Kathmandu Valley Trek?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kathmandu Valley Trek start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Kathmandu Food and Drink Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
