An amazing Nepal experience and private transport

This is an overdue review of my ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Laxman was my driver, part of the Transport Hire Nepal team. He was punctual, very friendly, courteous, and an excellent driver. Laxman took me from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and then, a few days later, he picked me up in Pokhara and drove me back to Kathmandu. I enjoyed the ride and his company so much that I booked another trip with Transport Hire Nepal a couple of weeks later—and specifically requested Laxman again. This time, he took my sister and me from Kathmandu to Nagarkot. Laxman chose a route with the most beautiful views of terraced fields and then brought us to the Nagarkot Geodetic Survey Tower, where we enjoyed a spectacular view of the Himalayas. My words and experience are not enough to tell you how much I’d recommend Transport Hire Nepal!! Thank you Binod and Laxman!!

memorable journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara

great experience all around. We (4 persons) used this transport to get around Kathmandu and from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and can highly recommend them. Our driver Laxmun has been fantastic, mastering the windy roads, as well as the quite confusing traffic like a PRO. There was not a single moment that we felt unsafe. The roads were quite bad during some parts of the journey, but that only added to the experience. The car was comfortable, and the driver was always on time at all parts of the journey - spot-on !!

Two huge thumbs up! Flawless service from start to finish

I contacted several local agencies to organize a 10 day tour for my family of 5 and Mr. Binod was the most responsive. He quickly sorted out a great itinerary at a fantastic price and assured me that it would be enjoyable for everyone (including 2 of my relatives who are a bit older and not in the best shape to walk long distances). We did a circular tour of Kathmandu, Nagarkot, Bandipur, Pokhara, Chitwan and back to Kathmandu. We opted for a comfortable 14 seater Toyota van and had an excellent driver, Rajkumar, for the entire trip. We had booked our hotels on our own and Rajkumar called each of them just prior to our arrival to ensure our rooms were ready and available for us. We loved having the freedom to stop when we wanted (the Indiana Jones style bridges across the river were impromptu stops, ha ha) and enjoyed being able to start as early or late as we wanted. The van was clean, comfortable and most importantly, Rajkumar was an excellent driver. He was very sweet with my aunties who opted not to do some of the more strenuous activities and hung out with them while the rest of us did our sightseeing. It's the little things that make a huge difference - Mr. Binod met us at the airport and greeted us with orange marigold flower necklaces and again at the end of the trip, he gave us each a Nepali Red khata scarf for safe travels. Overall, everyone had the best time in Nepal in large thanks due to Mr. Binod and company. We would absolutely book our next trip back to Nepal with him again!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your journey through Nepal's stunning landscapes and rich culture. We can’t wait to help you explore more of this beautiful country on your next trip!"

Mountain biking the Annapurna circuit

Binod was amazing. Very helpful getting all our questions answered, arranging private travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara, airport transfers, a mountain bike guide, permits for the Annapurna conservation area, and sorting us a local SIM card and local currency exchange. An excellent service from start to finish. 😀

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your valuable feedback! We’re thrilled to hear about your experience and appreciate your insights. We look forward to welcoming you on your next adventure with us!

Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles cost?

+

Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles take?

+

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 24-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kathmandu to Pokhara drop-off service by private vehicles start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Kathmandu Food and Drink Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
