Great Pilatus and Rigi railway combo tour from Zurich

Our tour guide was Selma. Group size 14 people. The day was well organized with enough breaks in between. Selma explained a lot and was very helpful and communicative. We can recommend the tour without reservation and thank Selma for a great day in the Lucerne mountains. T. & F.

Very Bad and unprofessional Viator experience

I reached the pick up point 20 minutes prior to the pick up time, but couldn’t find the guide. The tour operator contact number provided by Viator was of no use. No one picked up the call when I tried. The tour operator didnt even pick up the call when Viator personnel called them directly as well. After multiple failed attempts to contact no one picked me up. My limited time available in Switzerland got wasted. Viator doesn’t even provide refund for this incident inspite of all the events that followed. The trip itself is very costly and no refund initiated. Initially they said refund is requested. Later they said refund can’t be done without even providing proper justification. When we replied back and asked for a reason we wont get the response as well immediately. I went to the same place next day via a different agency and their tour operator was very prompt in lifting the phone calls whenever we called them. I took the same tour from interlaken from a different travel agency and booked basel to interlaken train tickets separately. This way I saved 220 Euros which is a huge amount. So price Viator offers is totally unacceptable as well. I had an opinion that Viator is reliable company. But me and my family completely lost faith on Viator with this incident and they are not even initiating refund. I am still fighting for the refund but Viator said they cant initiate refund without any reason. When asked for the reason I didnt get any answer yet as they are Very blunt and not responsive actively I recommend not to pick viator at all

Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Basel.

How much does Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel cost?

    +

Prices start at $737 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Basel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Basel is not rushed.

Is Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Basel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Basel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Basel and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Jungfraujoch & Lauterbrunnen Alpine Tour | From Basel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Basel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Basel?

    +

On Outty we rank every Basel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour, Stories of Basel's Old Town, Basel : Private Custom Walking Tour With A Guide (Private Tour). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Basel?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Basel?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
