Great wine tour!
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Colin was an excellent host/guide/driver and a really nice guy! He was highly informative and kept the tour fun and lively. We visited 3 wineries, tasted many fantastic wines and visited a few quaint villages along the way. Colin also arranged a great lunch spot for us too. This is an excellent tour we highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Hello Dan9x, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and such kind words. It was a pleasure to be able to take such an enthusiastic and engaging couple of wine enthusiasts to the beautiful region of Alsace. I know that the wineries certainly enjoyed your passion and interest in the wines that you both sampled on our tour of Alsace. These words of encouragement mean a lot to me and I really appreciate the time you have taken to write down your thoughts. It would be wonderful to entertain you again on perhaps another wine experience in the future. Kind regards Colin

Colin was a terrific guide.... He shared so much information along the way. He also had great knowledge of wines. We toured 3 excellent wineries.. at each winery we were greeted warmly. Will be sharing this information with my travel agent to have her seek out Colin for future tours arrangements. Thank you Colin for a great day. Richard/ Muriel and Joan

Lovely weekday afternoon. 🫶🥂
Colin was an exceptional tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the region, varietals, and individual wineries in the region. He made the experience a wonderful time for myself and my partner, and we learned so much. Would recommend Colin to anyone looking to explore the region - he was a great host. Hope to see him next time I’m in the area.
Response from the operator: Dear iansV4678NF, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for me, it really means a lot not only to me but also for the wineries when I pass on these comments to the wineries themselves. It was tremendous to spend the day in your company and I know that the wineries fully appreciated your enthusiasm and positive feedback you gave them. Kind regards Colin

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Basel.
How much does Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour cost?
+
Prices start at $245 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Basel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Basel is not rushed.
Is Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 76 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Basel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Basel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Basel and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Alsace wine tour and medieval villages. Small group guided tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Basel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Basel?
+
On Outty we rank every Basel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Basel : Private Custom Walking Tour With A Guide (Private Tour), Stories of Basel's Old Town, Basel Old Town, Cheese & Chocolate Experience | From Basel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Basel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Basel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
