Seeing is believing!
If you've ever wondered "Why is a desert considered worthy of being a national park?" -- this Hummer Tour is for you! Our guide Tom was super friendly and knowledgeable. We went in the middle of July--yes, the middle of July and had the park to ourselves. The weather was exceptional. Yes, it was hot, but we're from Atlanta and Georgia summers are way worse than dry 99 degrees. Tom provided great stories, music, water, and a snack-- the scenery provided the rest. Don't hesitate to go. The money is well worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! We love your observation that "seeing is believing"—Joshua Tree really does have a way of changing people's perspective. We're delighted Tom helped bring the desert to life with stories, music, and insights along the way. And you're absolutely right: while July is warm, the dry desert air often surprises visitors who are used to humid summers. Thank you for joining us and for encouraging others to experience the park. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure!

Another great Viator tour!
The Joshua Tree National Park van tour was great from start to finish. Eddie our driver and tour guide was fantastic. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at great photo spots throughout the park. There were several kids on our tour and Eddie interacted well with them and made the tour interesting to them.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear Eddie made your Joshua Tree adventure so memorable. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and ability to engage guests of all ages—especially the children—are exactly what we strive for. We're also glad you enjoyed the photo stops throughout the park. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Palm Springs.
How much does Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $179 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Palm Springs usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Palm Springs is not rushed.
Is Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 464 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Palm Springs, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure?
+
Around 162 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Palm Springs can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Palm Springs and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Joshua Tree Open Air Hummer Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Palm Springs within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Palm Springs?
+
Palm Springs sells architecture tours through midcentury neighbourhoods, Aerial Tramway trips up San Jacinto, Indian Canyons hikes, Joshua Tree stargazing and windmill farm runs. Shade, water and pickup points separate a good desert tour from a rough one. On Outty we rank every Palm Springs experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bank Heist Escape Room Game for Private Group, Palm Springs Modernism Architecture & History Bike Tour, Vampire's Lair Escape Room Game for Private Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Palm Springs?
+
November to April. Book dawn or evening slots in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Palm Springs?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
