    Delightful Experience

Kim met me at the door of her beautiful home with a smile, making me feel immediately at ease. She had prepared a lovely array of apéritifs, good wine (I chose white) and interesting conversation & I had the most enjoyable evening sharing stories with her. As a solo traveler, I look for experiences that give me the opportunity to meet people that provide lasting memories of my travels. Kim was just that and I left feeling like I had made a new friend. It was a wonderful way to spend time in Bordeaux. Thanks Kim...hope to see you on my next trip to Bordeaux.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely review.. Very kind and sweet words. Happy trails and do let me know the next time you are in Bordeaux. :) Kim

Wonderful Pre-dinner Hour with the Perfect Host

Kim invited us to her charming apartment for drinks and nibbles. An apéritif, some wine and a beautiful spread of best quality meats, cheeses, olives and bread. I ate everything it was so good. Besides the food Kim is a wonderful entertaining host. We were having such a good time, I’m afraid we might of stayed a little too long, but of course Kim would never say that.

Response from the operator: You didn't stay too long and I so enjoyed meeting you. Thank you so much for your lovely review. Don't be a stranger if you come back to Bordeaux. Continued happy travels and as Julia said, "BON APPETIT" with all meals and nibbles to come. :) Kim

    Best Experience in Bordeaux

I had such an unforgettable time with Kim! She was very warm and welcoming, so I felt comfortable to be at her house from the beginning. She is an American women who is open minded and knowledgeable. We talked a lot about food and cultures in Bordeaux, Paris, and Japan where I’m from. She had professional experiences in design industry and has traveled a lot. I enjoyed how she sees the world with wider perspective. I had local appetizers and aperitif which were really great. Goat cheese was the best! She even invited me to join her work at a market in the next morning which is not included in this tour. That was just heartwarming and learned a lot how she does. Excellent experience, highly recommended!!

A PERFICT BORDEAUX EVENING BEGINS WITH AN APERITIF WITH KIM

Before traveling to Bordeaux i had heard about a American living in there who spoke perfect French and invited travelers to her home for drinks and nibbles before going to their dinners. I went with several friends and we had the time of of our life, and this was just the beginning of our trip! Kim Freeman's energy and outgoing personality, and her charming home in the Chartrons quarter of Bordeaux (she was a magazine design editor in a former life) made us want to just hang out her her living room all night! She is not only filled with info about navigating the culinary and cultural treasures of Bordeaux but she gave us information about day and weekend trips around Bordeaux, of which there are legion! If yours is a long stay as ours was, you will want to spend another evening with her before you leave! Her drinks and appetizers are all from the classic offerings of the region.

It's Apéro Time Chez Kim: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bordeaux.

How much does It's Apéro Time Chez Kim cost?

    +

Prices start at $78 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bordeaux usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does It's Apéro Time Chez Kim take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bordeaux is not rushed.

Is It's Apéro Time Chez Kim worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bordeaux, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule It's Apéro Time Chez Kim?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is It's Apéro Time Chez Kim suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book It's Apéro Time Chez Kim?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bordeaux can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bordeaux and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does It's Apéro Time Chez Kim start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bordeaux within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bordeaux?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bordeaux experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Saint-Emilion Electric Bike Day Tour with Wine Tastings & Lunch, Saint-Émilion Afternoon Tour - 2 Grand crus & French apéritif, Graves & Saint-Emilion Wine Tour | 3 Châteaux & Gourmet Picnic. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bordeaux?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bordeaux?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
