Bordeaux was called Burdigala long before it became the world's wine capital. With Monsieur Bacchus, you ride through 2,000 years of history in 3 hours, with a local who actually lives here. Over about 13 flat kilometres, we pedal from the Roman Palais Gallien to Saint-André Cathedral and the medieval Grosse Cloche, where we stop for a canelé from our artisan partner Cassonade. We cross the Garonne on the Pont de Pierre for the best view of the UNESCO-listed riverfront, take a break at Darwin, the creative hub of the right bank, then ride back over the Chaban-Delmas bridge to the Chartrons, the old wine merchants' quarter. Our guides don't read a script: they share their stories, their favourite spots and their best tips. Where to eat tonight? Which wine bar is worth it? Just ask! Small groups (12 guests max per guide), comfortable Dutch bikes and helmets included. No megaphone, no rush: just good company and a city to fall in love with.

    A lovely afternoon!

A lovely way to see a lot of Bordeaux in a few hours. Our lovely guide ‘Flavi’ took us at a leisurely pace to all the historical sites of interest, whilst navigating the busy streets, in a calm, safe way. We even managed to circumnavigate the student protests with ease! Great way to spend an afternoon and don’t worry about not having been on a bike in a while, you pick it up very quickly on their fab bikes.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the lovely review! Flavi is absolutely wonderful at what she does—she has a gift for bringing Bordeaux's stories to life while keeping everyone at ease, even on the busy streets. Your mention of "not having to worry about having been on a bike in a while" is exactly what we aim for: accessible, joyful bike exploration at your own pace. The e-bikes really do make all the difference! We hope to see you back in Bordeaux soon. À bientôt! 🚴‍♀️

A great way to see and learn about Bordeaux

Flavie was there to meet us in a quiet residential area. She was expecting two more guests, but they cancelled at the last minute, so we had the tour to ourselves. The bikes were good and Flavie was thorough with the safety briefing. She took us to gardens, churches, an amphitheater and gave us an entertaining history of Bordeaux and its complex relationship with England. There were some street demonstrations by school students, which added to the atmosphere. Three quarters of the way through the tour, the heavens opened, and we nearly avoided getting drenched, but not quite. Flavie and her partner sheltered us in their garage after the tour and gave us each a poncho to head out to the tram stop. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! A private tour for two… with a proper Bordeaux shower as a bonus 😄 So glad Flavie could share the gardens, the amphitheater and our long story with England with you, and that the ponchos got you safely to the tram. Hope to see you again in Bordeaux, with sunshine this time! Mika

This was one of the best...

This was one of the best bike tours we have taken.. Flavi was a high quality guide. She provided the history and a taste of the culture in Bordeaux. The equipment was in excellent condition and the pacing was perfect. Don’t think about this tour, just book it. It is a good spend of time and money.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Jane! "Don't think about it, just book it": we might frame that one 😄 Flavie will be delighted to read your words. Happy you enjoyed the history, the culture and the pace. Hope to ride with you again, maybe through the vineyards next time! Mika

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bordeaux?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
