What you get

    About this experience

When your cruise ship docks in Istanbul, head out on a 3.5-hour shore excursion to visit the city’s famous Spice Bazaar and then cruise along the Bosphorus Strait. Travel between each site by coach as an onboard guide talks about the city’s history, and make the most of free time at the bazaar to browse its colorful and aromatic produce at leisure. Then, hop aboard a sightseeing boat and admire Dolmabahçe Palace, Rumeli Hisarı Fortress and other grand mosques and fortresses that line the Bosphorus’ shores.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Bosphorus Strait

Choose from a morning or afternoon tour, and then start your shore excursion with a pickup from the Port of Istanbul. As you travel through the city, sit back and relax as your onboard guide talks about Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar — your first destination of the tour. One of the city’s most colorful and bustling attractions, the market has operated since the 17th century and remains as popular with locals as it is with visitors. Hop out of your coach and head inside the market while breathing in its heady aromas of fragrant spices and herbs. Hear tips for interesting stalls to visit from your guide, and then enjoy roughly 45 minutes of free time to explore and shop at leisure. After shopping and sightseeing around the famous souk, travel by coach to the banks of the Bosphorus Strait for your cruise. Learn about the famous stretch of water that straddles both the Asian and European continents as you travel, and then board your sightseeing boat for the cruise. Take a seat out on deck or inside the cabin, and cruise past an impressive selection of Istanbul’s showpiece sights. Look out for Dolmabahçe Palace with its decadent façade, 15th-century Rumeli Hisarı Fortress and Beylerbeyi Palace where Ottoman-era sultans spent their summer vacations. Your route takes in sights on both the European and Asian shores and, in addition to Istanbul’s big-name attractions, the cruise also passes some the city’s lesser-known gems: mosques, fortresses, palaces and more. After admiring the sights of the Bosphorus Strait from the water, return to land and finally finish your experience with a port drop-off. Worry-Free Shore Excursion: We will ensure your timely return to the Port of Istanbul for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

    Great tour

After a boat ride we've upgraded our tour to full day. Lunch was great, hotel pick up/dropp off as agreed. Ali, the guide, was great. Provided a lot of info and funny. All and all, worth paying for.

The Bazaar was OK, though not...

The Bazaar was OK, though not anywhere near the variety you get at the Grand Bazaar. Mostly spices and jewelry--that's about it. The Bosphorus Cruise was disappointing. The boat was a ferry boat, not very comfortable. But the real problem was that only the few people sitting closest to the guide could hear what she was saying! For the rest of us, it was just a long ferry boat ride with some nice scenery but no narration at all, so we didn't know what we were seeing.

Excellent tour to see the Bosphorus and Istanbul from a different perspective. Love the Egyptian Bazaar - smaller than the Grand Bazaar so easier to get around. Wonderful spices and Turkish Delight! Friendlt locals but not pushy!

Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.

How much does Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.

Is Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Istanbul Shore Excursion: Small-Group Bosphorus Cruise and Istanbul Egyptian Bazaar start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Istanbul?

    +

On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Istanbul?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
