Fatih was simply the best tour guide experience that I’ve ever had. He was so very accommodating to every request, knowledgeable on matters of history, culture and social consequence … I would not only recommend this … I’d insist on asking specifically for Fatih!!

What a great day!
Errol was one of the best guides I’ve had! He was really knowledgeable about the area and answered every question we had, not to mention just lovely to hang out with all day. He took us to some lovely local areas that we never would have seen by ourselves. He personalised the tour to meet our interests and included foods we wanted to try. I had spent 5 days in Istanbul but felt like I saw a whole different side of it today. Highly recommend!

Unforgetable experience in Istanbul
Istanbul was even more incredible than we imagined and we were able to make the most of our time in port due to Tematique Tours. The first day, it was 3:00 PM by the time we disembarked from our ship. I was concerned that we would miss out on some of the sites we had hoped to see. However, Isil was waiting for us and made sure we maximized our time. She was friendly, energetic, and extremely knowledgeable. She was responsive to our interests and questions. Due to our late start, she even stayed with us so we could do an evening tour of the Basilica Cistern, which was absolutely amazing. We absolutely loved our time with her. The next morning, Tolga met us at the port and made sure we saw the remaining sites we had hoped to see. He was engaging and shared so much information with us that we would not have known otherwise. At our request, he guided us to some amazing shops where we were able to purchase high quality turkish delights, pottery, and leather goods. He also had us sample some delicious Turkish stuffed meatballs on Ikstiklal Street. I hope to return to Istanbul, and if I do, I will definitely be booking the food tour he offers! Do not hesitate to book a tour with this company.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your incredible experience with us! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that Tematique Tours helped make your time in **Istanbul** so memorable, especially with a limited time in port. It's wonderful to know that **Işıl** was there to greet you, even with your late start, and that her energy and knowledge made your first day so productive and enjoyable. We're especially proud that she went above and beyond to ensure you could experience the evening tour of the **Basilica Cistern**. And it's equally great to hear that **Tolga** made your second day just as fantastic. We love that he was so engaging and shared his insights with you, and that he could help you find high-quality shops for authentic Turkish goods. His personal recommendation of the stuffed meatballs sounds like a delicious highlight! We would be honored to have you back for one of our food tours on your next visit to **Istanbul**. Thank you for your high recommendation!

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off) cost?
+
Prices start at $21 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off) take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Istanbul Essentials: 1-Day Private Guided Tour (Pick-up/Drop-off) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
