Professional guide Raj leads the gokyo trek

This hike to Nepal's Lake Gokyo was an unforgettable one, and my guide Raj made the whole trip easy, safe and fun. From the beginning to the end of his trip, Raj has always shown great professionalism. Not only was he familiar with the route and local environment, he was able to flexibly pace his trip according to the weather, road conditions and my physical condition, but he also carefully reminded me of what needed to be done on high-altitude hikes, which gave me great peace of mind along the way. In addition to my professional abilities, I was more impressed by Raj's character and service attitude. He was sincere, patient and friendly, always smiling and happy to share stories of Nepal's culture, customs and mountains and villages along the way, making this hike not only a mountaineering trip but also an in-depth understanding of local culture. During the hike, whether I was assisting with accommodation arrangements, resolving sudden situations or caring about my physical condition, Raj was attentive enough to allow me to concentrate on enjoying the stunning views of the snowy mountains, glaciers and lakes of Lake Gokyo without worrying about anything else. If you're planning a hike to the Gokyo Lakes, Everest area or other mountains of Nepal, I would really recommend Raj as your guide. He is professional, reliable, responsible and passionate. I am very pleased with his service and look forward to the opportunity to explore Nepal's mountains again with him in the future. Thank you Raj for making my Gokyo Lake hike a lifelong memory. ★★★★

Response from the operator: Dear Navigator, Thank you very much for your wonderful 5-star review and for sharing your experience of the Gokyo Lakes Trek. The Gokyo region is one of the most spectacular trekking destinations in Nepal, and we are glad you were able to fully enjoy its stunning lakes, glaciers, and Himalayan views without any worries. Your kind words about Raj's professionalism, friendliness, and dedication mean a great deal to both him and our entire team. Thank you for recommending Raj and our services to future trekkers. Island peak,

What an Amazing trek and climb. I really wanted to climb my first 6000m peak. But i wanted to see a bit more of the kumbu region as well. I did trek with Nepal wilderness trekkong before and did contact Himal in advanced. He truly listens to what you want. They did provid me with the 3 passes trek, gokyo, everest basecamp and Island Peak. Abinta Raut was my guide. A really passionated and good guide who knows a lot about the region and wanted to climb the peak as well. She told me that one day she will climb everest and i belief she will. I will be back next year.

Response from the operator: Dear silm Namaste and thank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful and inspiring review. We are truly delighted to hear that your first 6,200m peak climbing experience was everything you hoped for—and more. It means a great deal to us that you chose Nepal Wilderness Trekking again and trusted us to design a journey that combined the Three Passes, Gokyo, Everest Base Camp, and Island Peak. Himal is especially happy to know that the planning matched your expectations—he truly believes that listening carefully is the key to a memorable Himalayan adventure. Your kind words about Abinta Raut touched us deeply. She is indeed a passionate, knowledgeable, and determined guide, and your encouragement will mean a lot to her. Her dream of climbing Mount Everest is one we firmly believe she will achieve one day. Exploring the Khumbu region and successfully standing on the summit of Island Peak is no small achievement, and we are proud to have been part of your journey. Thank you once again for your trust, your kind recommendation, and your motivation. We very much look forward to welcoming you back next year for another unforgettable Himalayan adventure. Trip of many firsts

The whole experience was excellent, Abinta and Ram had a really good knowledge of local amenities and culture. As a group of 8 we have all managed to trek to EBC and climb the Island Peak, especially hiring 3 Sherpas supporting us on the summit day. The weather was glorious, definitely on our side and the altitude affected us only mildly. Overall, fantastic experience. Thank you to the company and our guides, we had a fantastic trip.

Response from the operator: Dear Zuzana, Namaste and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you and your group had a fantastic experience climbing Island Peak and trekking to Everest Base Camp. Abinta, Ram, and the Sherpas will be delighted to know their support and knowledge made a positive difference for your adventure. It’s great that the weather was favorable and that the trek went smoothly for everyone. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for more Himalayan adventures in the future! Epic hike with epic sherpa

had the pleasure of meeting my Sherpa, Saujan, and he was absolutely amazing. So hospitable, kind, and incredibly helpful throughout the journey. We did the ABC trek together and spent nearly a week side by side — during that time, he became much more than just a guide; he became a true friend. His professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care made the experience unforgettable. The scenery was breathtaking, and having someone like Saujan to share it with made it even more special. He truly represents what every traveler should hope for in a Sherpa — highly recommended

Response from the operator: Dear Josh, Namaste, and thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such an amazing experience with our Sherpa, Saujan. Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung cost?

How long does Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung take?

Is Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 90.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 90.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Island peak climbing arrange from Chhukung start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
