An awesome trip with a fabulous company

The 3 peaks tour with Annapurna foothills was incredible. It was a challenging expedition requiring some serious climbing but we loved every minute of it. The tour company had it all planned out beautifully to maximise our success and ensure safety. The tour was such great value with all accommodation, meals and snacks included. The guide Mingmar was superb, skilled, knowledgeable and a lot of fun while the two porters (1 porter for each traveler) were strong, helpful and also fun to be around. The organisers, Ngima and Tahsi were friendly and responsive and sorted out everything from beginning to end including some challenging flight arrangements. I highly recommend this company and this tour. We had an awesome time from beginning to end!

I climbed island peak and did the 3 pass trek with Annapurna Foothills and I really enjoyed the experience. The guides Tenzing and Mingma were really great and took good care of all of us, they managed to solve all the unexpected problems, the food and accommodations were good and the whole experience was really enjoyable because of the good atmosphere of the group. I recommend Annapurna Foothills trek to anyone going to Nepal, whether for climbing or trekking in Khumbu or Langtang. Thank you Ngima for everything and for climbing my first 6000er mountain.

Outstanding Mountaineering Experience

I recently completed the Everest 3 High Passes trek + Island Peak Climbing with Annapurna Foothills, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Our guides, Tenzing and Mingma, were amazing. They ensured our comfort throughout the trip and made countless efforts to enhance our experience. Each night, we stayed in local tea houses that were both comfortable and served delicious food. They even took us around the towns for additional exploration whenever we desired. The trekking pace was perfectly suited to our group, with well-timed breaks in scenic and sheltered spots for meals. Snacks were provided, and every detail of the journey was meticulously planned to ensure our enjoyment. I am especially thankful to Tenzing for showing concern and care when I felt very ill on one of the days early in the trip. She arranged suitable meals, and I was able to quickly recover by the next morning to carry on. Tenzing and Mingma added numerous special touches that made the trek unforgettable. We enjoyed a picnic beside a lake at the Kongma La Pass and a guided tour of the Thame Monastery. Their extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor greatly enriched our experience. When bad weather disrupted flights from Lukla Airport, the guides quickly arranged alternative transportation by jeep/van. This proactive approach showcased their experience, flexibility and quick thinking. I highly recommend Annapurna Foothills for any trekking adventure in Nepal. They truly go above and beyond to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience.

An amazing time with amazing people

This was my first time mountaineering and Annapurna Foothills provided me with the best experience I ever had. During the entire trip, Tenzing and Mingma spared no effort in ensuring we were comfortable. The local tea houses we stayed at each night was comfortable and had really good food. They brought us around the towns once we arrived if we decided to explore a little more. During the trek, we were provided snacks and the pace was appropriate for us. They would choose really nice places for us to break too, ensuring there isn’t too much wind or to have a really nice view as you are having your lunch. They were flexible in allowing for some changes in the program too. During the hike, some of us wanted to take a different route and they catered to our requests as long as it wasn’t a very big deviation. Overall I had a really good time with them and would recommend them to anyone heading to Nepal for their hike!

An unforgettable experience

I booked my first mountaineering experience with Annapurna Foothills, 26 days with 2 summits on the program (Mera peak and Island Peak). The expedition was perfectly organized, from the contact and discussion with Ngima to the goodbye at the end of the expedition with Dawa. The team has been reactivated to find emergency accommodation during flight cancellations to and from Lukla. Sherpa Ngawa took great care throughout the expedition to make this adventure an unforgettable experience. A big thank you to the whole team for all this work.

Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days cost?

+

Prices start at $3250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days take?

+

Plan for about 480 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable nightlife in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 480-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 480-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Island Peak Climbing - 20 Days start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
