    First visit to Marco Island

Best boating tour EVER. Captain Nate is super knowledgable and accommodating. He has a good sense of humor too. The water was calm and the dolphins loved playing in the wake of our boat when he picked up speed. The wildlife was amazing. We saw dozens of ospries nesting on one of the islands! The oyster bars were beautiful. Best part of our vacation!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the amazing review, Terri! We’re honored you chose us for your first visit to Marco Island, and even more excited to hear it was the best part of your trip. That’s exactly the experience we hope to create for every family that joins us. Sounds like you had one of those perfect days out there—calm water, playful dolphins in the wake, and those incredible osprey nests all around the islands. The oyster bars really are a hidden gem, too, with the nesting pelicans this time of year. It was a pleasure having you and your family on board, and we hope your first trip to Marco Island is just the beginning. We’d love to have you back out with us again anytime 🐬 — Florida Island Tours 🌴

    Highly recommend

Great trip in a beautiful boat. Our Capn Rick was very knowledgeable and took the time to teach us about the area including Coon Island (yes they have raccoons and he has seen them swimming!) these 10000 islands are breathtaking. Our 1000 islands at home (we are from NY) pale in comparison. Mangroves, birds, fish, no dolphins unfortunately but just the waters and breeze were wonderful. Shelling on the island was great just off the coast and high rises at Marco Island. We hope to visit Rick and his lovely wife again. !

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the thoughtful and detailed review! We love hearing how much you enjoyed exploring the Ten Thousand Islands with Captain Rick. He really has a passion for sharing the area’s wildlife, history, and those fun local surprises—like the swimming raccoons around Coon Island. Even on days when the dolphins stay a little shy, it’s great to hear the beauty of the mangroves, birdlife, and peaceful waters, which still made the experience special. That calm breeze and remote shelling stops can really make for a memorable day. We truly appreciate the kind words about Rick and his wife, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime for another Marco Island boat tour—hopefully with dolphins joining the show next time 🐬 — Florida Island Tours

    Pleasant boat ride experience

Here is a brief review based on your experience: We had a nice time exploring the waters around Marco Island and Goodland. One of the highlights was seeing dolphins playing in our boat’s wake. Our guide was both pleasant and knowledgeable, teaching us about the local history and pointing out beautiful birds in their natural habitat, including ospreys, egrets, and cormorants. We also enjoyed a relaxing stop to look for unique shells. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We recommend this to anyone looking to spend a few hours on the water, seeing some wildlife in their natural habitat and learning more about the history of the area.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the thoughtful review, Bob! Florida Island Tours is glad you enjoyed exploring the waters around Marco Island and Goodland. That mix of dolphins playing in the wake, local birdlife like ospreys and egrets, and a relaxing shelling stop is exactly what makes our eco tours so special. It’s great to hear the captain helped bring the area’s history and wildlife to life while keeping things comfortable and easygoing. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to have you back out on the water for another Marco Island dolphin tour or shelling adventure soon. 🌊🐬🐚

    Amazing

Absolute best. Gary was amazing. Got some great shells. Saw some dolphins. Manatee came over and said hello. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Jennifer. Florida Island Tours truly appreciates you taking the time to share this. It sounds like one of those days where everything just lines up perfectly out on the water. Captain Gary has a great way of making every trip feel relaxed and personal, while still finding all the highlights. Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat is always special, but having a manatee come right up for a visit is something guests never forget. Add in some quality shelling stops, and that’s about as good as a day gets in the Ten Thousand Islands. Moments like that are exactly why so many families choose our Marco Island boat tours and eco tours. There is always something new to discover, whether it is wildlife, shells, or just the peaceful beauty of the backwaters. We really appreciate the recommendation and hope we get to welcome you back out with Florida Island Tours for another adventure soon 🐬🐚🌊

Highly Recommend this Memorable Family-Friendly Boating Experience!

What a memorable, family-friendly experience! Captain Nate was awesome and so knowledgeable about the local wildlife. We witnessed the most amazing first flight of a baby Osprey, saw a manatee, and families of playful dolphins throughout our tour. Capt. Nate also knew the area well enough to navigate to a lesser-populated island where we collected beautiful sea shells and even a handful of sand dollars! It couldn’t have been a more enjoyable experience. The boat was also very clean, had a canopy for shade, and a cooler filled with ice. Life vests were also provided (including for my young children). The tour was just shy of 2.5hrs over calm waters. I would highly recommend this experience - thank you Capt. Nate (and furry Chief Mate Honeybear)!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Katherine! Florida Island Tours is thrilled your family had such a memorable experience out on the water. Watching a baby osprey’s first flight is incredibly special, and pairing that with dolphins, a manatee sighting, and great shelling makes for an unforgettable day. Captain Nate takes pride in finding those quieter islands and sharing the wildlife in a fun, family-friendly way. It’s great to hear the comfort of the boat, shade, and gear made the trip easy for everyone, especially with young kids. And of course, Honeybear loves being part of the adventure 🐶 We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome your family back for another Marco Island dolphin, shelling, or eco tour soon 🌊🐬🐚

Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour?

    +

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Island Paradise: Dolphin, Shelling, Birding Eco Boat Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

Naples is the launch point for Everglades airboat rides and Ten Thousand Islands boat tours, along with shelling trips, sunset sails off the pier and small-group food walks downtown. On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marco Island and Naples Pedal or Paddle Kayak Tour, Mangrove Tunnels & Mudflats Kayak Tour - Local Biologist Guides, Manatees and Mangrove Tunnels Small Group Kayak Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

November to April, the dry season with the best wildlife viewing. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
