Misleading and False Information in Departure Time
First and Foremost, the information provided was that the cruise started at 11:30 am and to arrive 10 minutes before departure or 11:20 am. We arrived at 11:20 and were told the boat doesn’t leave until 12:30 pm. So, we were forced to sit in a horrible hut for an hour waiting to leave at 12:30 pm. The information provided is misleading and needs to be corrected. It’s wrong to put anyone in this situation by providing the wrong time for departure. Very disappointing.
Response from the operator: The catamaran departure wa at 12:00 pm, we ask customers to arrive 10 minutes early due to volume of traffic in the hotel zone Your only complain is about the departure time of the catamaran, there is nothing else on you review. For any readers, take note that there is no real complaint in this review.

If I could leave 0 Stars I would.
Like the title says, I could give it zero stars, easy. The ONLY thing we enjoyed, was the boat ride with the open bar, the guy hosting and the music. Oh & the buffet food. You get on the boat & you’re pumped up and excited. Then as you’re getting close to shore a guy offers to take your picture and then you get off the boat and you’re taken to your buffet/open bar. & then they leave and you’re stranded till the come back for you 4.5 hours later. BUT you only get 90 mins. For both or they start charging you. They constantly clean up your plates and napkins without asking if you’re done and then shove a tip jar in your face essentially when they think you’re done. (Place it right on your table and say it’s for tips) When you’re finished eating and drinking your fill, DONT YOU DARE SIT ON A CHAIR, under an umbrella out of the sun, because some guy is gonna come tell you, that you need 700 PESOS to rent the chairs and umbrella for AN HOUR. There were also signs on bathroom doors charging to use bathrooms. If you want to go look around the island, you’ll have to pay 50 USD to drive a golf cart around for 2 hours.. or you can walk but you’ll be harrassed every 2 seconds to buy overpriced EVERYTHING. Ended up stopping in a shop to do a “tequila tasting” which very quickly turned into “this tequila is 6500 pesos and this one is 12,000 pesos.” Yes. TWELVE THOUSAND PESOS. This place is nothing more than a massive tourist trap where you will get a terrible sunburn and maybe even heat stroke if you don’t bring money or feel like using a credit card (I would never here because it screams shady surcharges ) as there are VERY limited places to sit with shade for FREE. You get back on the boat, and they load you up with drinks and party back, BUT those pictures they took for you earlier? Yes 50 USD for those also. Hard no. Absolutely worst experience I’ve had in Mexico since I got here. Will NEVER do this again, and will be telling everyone I know, not to go there either.
Response from the operator: At the beggining you literally said that you liked everything that was included in this tour The rest of your review is about things that does not have anything to do with the tour The tour is clear about having free time at the Island, free time means free time on your own without the guide. You are complaning about waiters cleaning your plates, they always ask if you are done, they have no reason to take them away since the buffet is included and unlimited You randomly sitted on furniture that is not yours and expected it to be free without any logical reason Everyone can easily say NO to everyone and keep going your way, harrasment is nothing like that Why do you expect to have shade for free? Not even in the USA have free umbrellas and chairs This review is filled with complaints without basis or any logical reasons

Island Cruise Cancun
Loved the snorkeling and the cruising. Did not appreciate the “dock fee” of $20 per person. Or being asked to rent a towel for $8 each. Surprise! Also, the upsell to vip cruise. $60 per person. We chose to stick with the original cruise and no towel. . The crew was great! Lots of fun.
Response from the operator: The dock fee was not included, it's a federal tax that any person pays when taking a boat ride to Isla Mujeres. At any marina, with any operator The towels too were not included and were optional, and yes, there was an option to upgrade the tour. The key word is "option" making it a decision where you could say no to it It's important to understand, there will always be extras to purchase, at any store, tour, hotel or anywhere that is commercial We are glad that you liked the staff performance and the rest of the tour

Party Central
My best friends and I went for our birthdays. We had a ball. They made sure we were safe and had a good time. This was the best day trip. We partied from the time the boat started until we got back.
Response from the operator: Isla Mujeres is the best place to party. We were honored to have you on such a special date for you. The staff will always take care of everything, so everyone can fun freely We'll be here waiting for your next birthday trip

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club cost?
+
Prices start at $57 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Isla Mujeres Tour on Catamaran with Open Bar, Buffet & Beach club start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
