An Awakening of the Dormant Artist in Me

Lourdes was great. The workshop was relaxing and fun. It brought me back to my past experiences painting and drawing in elementary school and university. I also enjoyed the environment, Art Vallarta. I love art in all its forms and would have loved to take home some of the sculptures and paintings I saw in the museum. If there is an extended painting class, I would be interested in taking it.

    Watercolor Class - Interesting

Bring your own paints and brushes. I enjoyed the class and the instructor gave each student good feedback. The paints were not cleaned and some of the brushes had not been cleaned properly. It is a great idea and I am sure it will grow as time goes on. Liked that we could see what the local artists were doing - having their gallery where students could see what the artists in the area were working on.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We are thrilled you enjoyed the class and that the instructor provided excellent feedback! We also appreciate you highlighting the gallery and the opportunity to see the work of our local Banderas Bay artists. Please accept our sincere apologies regarding the condition of the brushes and paints. We pride ourselves on providing premium supplies, including high-quality Daniel Smith Watercolors, and our cleaning standards clearly fell short. We have taken immediate action to review our supply maintenance to ensure this does not happen again. We value your positive outlook for our growth and hope you will join us for another class or exhibit soon!

Awesome class, would take it again!

Instructor Lourdes was very patient and competent with deep knowledge of watercolor techniques and theory. She made the class fun and the time sped by. Art VallARTa is a delightful cultural center offering gallery space and classes in painting, ceramics, glass, and more. Be aware that the beautiful, well-lit studio is up a steep hill, followed by some flights of stairs. Taxi recommended for those with mobility issues.

    Superb experience

We are most grateful to have found ART VallARTa in general and Veronica Rangel in particular. Everyone at the studio is welcoming and encouraging. The positive vibes cannot be missed. We are new to painting, and watercolor possesses unique challenges. Veronica guides her students with poise, grace, patience, and tremendous knowledge, in English and Spanish. Although we are beginners we have learned a great deal in a short amount of time. All our future visit to the town will include time spent at ValllARTa. If you don't have time for a class you may want to enjoy the gallery. There are many interesting installations and you are certain to meet lovely people.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your wonderful review. Veronica is a superstar and love that she shares her talent. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Introduction to Watercolor: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.

How much does Introduction to Watercolor cost?

    +

Prices start at $42 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Introduction to Watercolor take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.

Is Introduction to Watercolor worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Introduction to Watercolor?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Introduction to Watercolor suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Introduction to Watercolor?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Introduction to Watercolor start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
