About this experience
It is important to note that I am very selective about my choice of wines. With over 500 wineries in the valley, many small, fine wine oriented producers are overlooked by large scale industrial operations. We will taste some of Napa’s most heralded wineries (likely ones you’ve never heard of), as well as international wines. I like to champion true artisans and support small businesses!

We learned so much and tasted great wine!
Fantastic experience! Elisabeth demystifies the wine tasting process and makes Napa feel so much more approachable if you feel a little overwhelmed with all the options around. She was a lot of fun and answered all our questions. I really recommend it especially if you’re going to be spending a few a days in the area, it’s a great start to a wine vacation!

Lovely Experience
We adored Elisabeth, she was so personable and knowledgeable about the culture, process, and history of wine and really curated the conversation to our experience level. We left with an understanding about how to truly to enjoy wine. She also gave us great recommendations for Napa and other travels around the world. We hope to come back to the area and book her again for a future wine & food pairing class.

Not just education
We started this intro to wine experience questioning if we would enjoy an educational wine tasting. Our doubts were quickly changed. Elizabeth didn't just deliver her knowledge, she delivered fun, enthusiasm and an experience. We all walked away with new knowledge and memories.

Gaining knowledge of wine
My goal was to be able to learn some terms to be able to describe (and thus buy) wines that I enjoy. There is sooo much to learn and understand, but Elisabeth helped me take some baby steps toward my goal. Elisabeth is kind, very knowledgeable and willing to answer all questions, no matter what level her clients are at.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Napa & Sonoma.
How much does Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière cost?
+
Prices start at $156 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Napa & Sonoma usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Napa & Sonoma is not rushed.
Is Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Napa & Sonoma, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Napa & Sonoma can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Napa & Sonoma and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Intro to Wine Tasting with Napa Sommelière start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Napa & Sonoma within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Napa & Sonoma?
+
Napa and Sonoma are all about how a tour is put together: which wineries it can actually book, how many stops, whether lunch and tasting fees are included, and whether it lifts off in a balloon at sunrise. We weight inclusions and transparency heavily in the ranking here. On Outty we rank every Napa & Sonoma experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Napa Valley Small Group Winery Tour, #1 Sonoma Walking Food, Wine Tasting & History Tour (Public Tour), Sonoma Valley Pedal Assist Bike Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Napa & Sonoma?
+
March to May and September to November, with harvest crush in September. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Napa & Sonoma?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
