It was a fun experience...
It was a fun experience and although it was too cloudy to see northern lights we had fun anyway. One thing to note, the location is next to a residential neighborhood of cabins and if the neighbors are on their property with their lights on (which they were) the light pollution affects how dark it can be. Also their voices, although not loud, carried to our space. Our host Gigi was excellent. He explained the process and helped us know what to expect every step of the way. We would give him 5 out of 5 stars!

It was not what i...
It was not what i expected, the instructions was not very clear about how long we were going in for how to get out of the water with the float, whether you can wear gloves under the suit as it was very cold and hands were hurting. We did it at night so could not see anything. So unless you want to do polar plunge it was not worth doing the ice float

The experience was really...
The experience was really cool. Might want to market less on the Northern lights because it is unlikely to see per the guide and based on what I have seen. Price also dropped by 50 US dollars by booking closer to the date. Little frustrating
via Viator
Exciting and Mildly Challenging
Exciting activity, was not very much interested as weather was bad during the day and no chances of northern lights, but floating in lake was exciting as it is bit challenging to float on your back and make sure hand gloves are used for a comfortable float.

Exceeded all expectations
Amazing! We were a group of 4 not really expecting much from this but this experience was probably our favorite part of Rovaniemi. We traveled during some of their coldest temperatures and surprisingly were not cold during our float. The suits kept us dry/warm, the people kept us informed/feeling safe, and just before we were packing up to leave from our cookies/juice, the auroras appeared and they took their time to explain and allowed us to experience this magical event. If you have any doubts, please don’t and book this tour!

Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis cost?
+
Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 81 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ice Floating in Forest Lake with Aurora Borealis start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
