Beautiful nature walk and hot springs
The hot springs and nature walk was excellent. We went in morning so we had hot pools for our group and the great sounds of nature. Great time for our group, is different than other tours. I have to give less than 5 stars as the “includes advertised has private transportation and water/Fruit/sandwich”, so we were not prepared for peso for public bus ride and did not bring our own snacks for the 5 hour outing. The hot springs timing could be slightly shorter. This walk is not for everyone, you do need water shoes not just sandals. You walk through thigh high steams, the current was moderate. You need to walk on uneven surfaces, so stability is required. The rocks can be slippery and to get in the pools you need to be able to step over the side. Our guide was very nice and environmentally friendly, in tune with nature. Value for money was not great, as not as advertised.
Response from the operator: Hello cheryl So sorry for all this confusion Unfortunately you met and went with the wrong guide and this is why you guys didn’t get the private transportation and snacks and full and best experience in general We just stayed waiting for you at the meeting spot for 45 minutes until he let us know took our group Not your fault, this guys didn’t ask for your ticket reservation We already refunded your reservation Hope you can visit us next time and enjoy the best experiences again as the bioluminescence tour you did with us Regards

This hike is so special...
This hike is so special and leads to an extraordinary place. We felt honored to have this opportunity shared with us. It's worth every step and our guide Eduardo is an incredible person. We more than enjoyed our trip with him, we will cherish it always.

Relaxing Soak in the Mountains
Eduardo is such an amazing guide and person. The trip feels less like a tour and more like having a local friend take you on a day out. He knows the area well and tells you interesting tidbits along the way. The hot spring itself is amazing. He makes sure we have plenty of time to spend at the pool to thoroughly take in the sights and relax. On the way back we stopped at a local restaurant for delicious tacos. It was a wonderful and super enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

The best nature walk, hot spring, and un-touristy adventure with a guide who loves his "job."
Peaceful nature walk that follows a beautiful river to the hot spring pools. A absolute wonderful way to begin your morning. Eduardo was friendly and generous with local information and a history of his culture. Hot pools had a lovely view of the river and canyon. I experienced the clay amazing massage, too! I can't wait to do this again!

The other side of Puerto Vallarta
Wonderful tour away from the city and to relax in nature. Eduardo is a thoughtful guide and very knowledgeable! The walk is quite easy but be prepared to walk in water (water shoes are best because the river bottom is rocky). So much fun and so beautiful to bathe in the hot water and cool off in the creek. Definitely recommend!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain cost?
+
Prices start at $1150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Hiking to Secret Hot Springs in the Mountain start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
