Hike through the stunning vineyards of the Douro Valley to the picturesque village of Pinhão, surrounded by the world's oldest demarcated wine region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the valley's terraced vineyards. Around midday, we'll stop for a picnic (not included – please bring your own food and drinks) before continuing the hike to Pinhão, where you'll have time to visit its historic train station. The hike is approximately 9 km and is rated easy to moderate for those comfortable walking long distances. It may be challenging for less experienced hikers. During August and September, temperatures can reach 40°C (104°F). We expect to return to Porto around 5:00 PM. A minimum of 3 participants is required for this tour to operate.

We will have our first stop in Sabrosa, a village on top of the Douro valley. This will be a stop to have a coffee and relax a bit of our way by car.

Portugal cancelled
Be aware that the tours can be cancelled on short notice. The notice will come on various platforms. We had our first tour cancelled at 9pm prior to an 8am departure. We were rescheduled for a 1:30pm departure which was cancelled (via WhatsApp) at 11:21 am. These late cancellations did not allow us to make alternative plans as local tours were booked.

It was a very fun and...
It was a very fun and inspiring tour. It felt such a local experience full of surprises and beautiful moments. The wine tasting, the local restaurant we visited and our tour guide were the highlights of this tour. I really recommend it to everyone and I will definitely join again next time I am around the city of Porto.

Great surprise for lunch.
Nice hike through vineyards and olive groves. Stop for a snack at lovely cafe at the Pinhao train station. Our lunch was a terrific multi-course offering with red & white & port wines at a private quinta (estate) where we got to see a real, live grape stomping! What a great experience.

Don’t miss the Duoro
Our guide, Juoan, was incredible and gave us one of our most memorable tours. We were scheduled for a different tour that had to be cancelled and this was wonderful. The Duoro valley is a must do for anyone visiting Porto. We had a great group of people and our guide and vintners made it just perfect!! We had delicious local wine and food and a special surprise guitar serenade by our guide. Multi talented and wanted to do anything to make us comfortable. The only drawback is there were 8 people in a van and it was extremely tight. Would be perfect for 6, but I think they tried to accommodate us and glad they did!!
