False advertising
We had booked on Tripadvisor and were reassured to be with women. Upon our arrival, two men had us go up into the building. The door to the room would not open. They made us wait on the roof. Finally, after a 45-minute delay from the scheduled time, the man let us in and asked us to tell him about our lives, which we refused. He explained to us that a woman would arrive but that he would stay and he would be our "instructor" for two hours. In the end, we made jewelry but without really learning anything more and not feeling safe at all. Misleading advertisement on the site. Poor price/experience ratio.

Really Great Experience
Very cozy jewelry workshop. People who work there are absolutely amazing and very welcoming. The shop and the store supports a great social initiative of helping women and children. Really recommend going there and taking part in this special workshop!! :)

lovely experience
I spent here two weeks, it is a lovely place. The women were kind and patient to explain all the tasks to me. It was not only a working relationship but a true friendship! I learnt how to make jewelleries with beautiful natural stones and I tasted delicious homemade nepali food. The shop is Thamel, centre of kathamandu, so it is a great opportunity also to visit the city. I recommend it!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Anna for your review.

What a good thing.
Great thought for a project that combines local art with personal performance and close encounter with the locals, not to forget the donation to the orphanage
Response from the operator: Thank you so much

Amazing experience
I joined the jewelry-making workshop and it was such a wonderful experience. The teacher was incredibly kind, patient, and talented. They explained every step with care and made the whole process so much fun. I loved being able to create my own piece of jewelry from scratch, and I’ll cherish it as a special memory from Nepal. The atmosphere was relaxed, creative, and inspiring. I would 100% recommend this workshop to anyone visiting Nepal it’s a perfect mix of culture, art, and authenticity!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Ines. we appreciate so much

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Handmade Jewellery Workshop with Nepali Women start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
