    Best Hana tour guide

We did the Half way to Hana tour and our guide Davalynn was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable, joyful and provided helpful tips to make the drive on the winding road easy to handle. We had amazing stops and so many extra stops with beautiful insights from a true local. Highly recommend

Response from the operator: Aloha! Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed your Halfway to Hāna adventure. Our guides love sharing the stories, culture, and hidden gems of East Maui, and we're happy those local insights made your experience even more memorable. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope you'll join us again someday for the full Road to Hāna tour!

    Most beautiful day trip ever

Our driver Lea was the best! She showed us so many amazing places and shared so much history not to mention she was a ton of laughs. I was lucky enough to be with an amazing family who adopted me for the day.

We finished our Maui bucket list. It was great.

We were unable to do the entire tour because of flash flood risk. Del made sure that we got all of the experience.

Response from the operator: Aloha, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with Gardel. Hana & Beyond Management Team

    It was ok

Hmm it was ok I wouldn’t do it again it felt dragging not much to see. It wasnt spectacular more plants stuff not a single cellular signal nothing

Response from the operator: Aloha. Thank you very much for joining us on our Halfway to Hana Tour. We understand and apologize if the tour did not meet your particular standards. The long and windy journey often takes its toll on those who decide to make the journey. The journey is filled with greenery, tropical fruits and flowers, one lane bridges, waterfalls and the like, all of which can be missed if one would simply close their eyes for a quick minute on this great journey. Getting in-tune with nature and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere is what Hana is all about. The tour allows one to decompress, reset and get away from the fast and electronic life for but a second which in turn refreshes the soul. We hope your family enjoyed the free upgrade from the standard transit van to the Luxury Cadillac Escalade SUV and continuing the journey to the fresh water pond and driving through Hana town as well, locations that are not included in this tour package. We heard you were a very nice family, having a celebration of sorts. We were also told that your child is musically inclined and enjoyed playing her ukulele on the journey. Despite the wild turns and the long journey she continued to play on. This is awesome! We would like to thank you again and we wish you well in the future. Mahalo.

Halfway to Hana Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kihei.

How much does Halfway to Hana Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $180 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kihei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Halfway to Hana Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kihei is not rushed.

Is Halfway to Hana Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kihei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Halfway to Hana Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Halfway to Hana Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Halfway to Hana Adventure?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kihei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kihei and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Halfway to Hana Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kihei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kihei?

    +

Kihei, HI packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Kihei by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Kihei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Road to Hana Adventure Maui Tour with Lunch, Maui: Haleakala Sunrise Spectacular with Local Breakfast, Maui: Famous Road to Hana Waterfalls and Lunch by Mercedes Van. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kihei?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Kihei, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kihei?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
