Wonderful private Colombo City tour
Looking for a private shore excursion in Colombo, Sri Lanka, we decided to book the customized city tour with Beyond Escapes. We couldn't have done better. On the day our friendly driver guide Mr. Kumara was already waiting for us at the port gate and gave us a great customized city tour. Mr. Kumara is not only an excellent driver but also a very knowledgeable tourguide. He was very personable and full of information. We visited the red mosque, Kelanija temple, the National museum and other attractions. We highly recommend Beyond Escapes and especially our tourguide Mr. Kumara.

Loved this tour
Took us to some great places. Nothing too much trouble. Allowed plenty of time at each location and the driver / guide was very knowledgable and obliging, Excellent value for money

Not what we expected for the money
The tour guide was late after poor communication from the main office around our pick-up time despite emails and text messages requesting the 830am start due to pre-booked afternoon events. The tour guide was not really interested in giving us any background on Colombo or what we were going to see, didn't get out of the car to come into the temples with us to explain what anything was or the Colombo National Museum! For the price these entrance fees should have been included. We spent most of the 4 hours stuck in the car on a very hot day listening to the driver taking and making numerous phone calls. We should have used a local tuk-tuk driver for £4 an hour who were more than willing to impart that knowledge about their history and heritage. Poor value for money and a real disappointment.

HALF DAY PRIVATE CUSTOM COLOMBO CITY TOUR
We were met at our hotel on time by our wonderful tour guide Upal. He was so knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city. He was absolutely wonderful and patient and was very considerate as we had our kids with us. The vehicle was comfortable and had air conditioning. My favorite part of the tour was the Gangarama Temple. If you are using shorts, they will give you a wrap to cover your legs. All tourist will pay a donation as an entrance fee. And if you want to do an offering, there are ladies outside the temple that sell beautiful flowers. Thank you Reshini for all your assistance, your service was wonderful and professional. We had also booked the Southern Sri Lankan Tours through Beyond Travels as well. Nuwan was also a wonderful tour guide as well.

We were met at the cruise port and given a thoroughly comprehensive tour of Colombo in an air confirmed vehicle with a wonderfully friendly and informative guide who ensured we saw everything we wanted to and more!
