This was a true bucket...
This was a true bucket list for me! The staff were amazing, the horses matched to our abilities, we had some practice work in the mean beforehand and the ride through the country side and town was perfect. I ride horses at home and to do this with my daughter in Tuscany was a perfect part of our trip. I loved it so so much and I am so grateful.

Countryside horses
Being able to ride through the countryside on horses and see the scenery was the best experience for us. Our horses were so beautiful and well behaved it was a pleasure riding them.

The mountains in Italy
A ranch which does a great job of showing us the scenery in Italy. Our guide took us on a wonderful view of the country side

Tuscan horseback experience
We enjoyed our ride up a mountain in Tuscany. We had about 10 people on the ride which was guided by Mae. The horses were well schooled on the trail and had their own cadence. They told us they were in charge and we were along for the ride . We did not have stops for viewpoints along the way. The highlight was riding through the village of Montieri on our way back to the stables. My horse ended up with a loose shoe on the ride back which concerned me. The tack was less than stellar but the horses had good dispositions for the most part. The Viator directions to the stable were inaccurate via google maps. Find the helipad and you find the stables which are not well marked.
Response from the operator: Hello Mrs. Stacy H., thank you for taking your time for a review on our experience. We really appreciate your opinion and are, of course, always up to improving things. Our team is happy to hear that you mostly enjoyed your ride. It can happen that a horse shoe gets loose on a ride and we fix or attach them straight away afterwards. We are working on improving the google maps directions with google maps. Have a great time and thank you again. Kind regards Caja Schaefer Hotel Prategiano

Not as advertised.
Horse ride was quite average with none to little engagement from group leader/guide. Address details were minimal with only a link to google maps which led you to the middle of a road. Pictures aren’t reflective of actual ride.
Response from the operator: Hello Matt_B, thank you for taking time for a short review on our ride. We are very sorry that it was not as you expected. Our pictures are a mix of all the different rides of many diverse directions and destinations that we offer and which we always adapt to the experience of our guest riders. We wish you would have enjoyed the beautiful scenery like our other guests do. We will definitely contact google maps for the problem with the precise address. Thank you for your advice. We usually do not have that issue. Wish you all the best. Kind regards Caja Schaefer Hotel Prategiano

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Gimignano.
How much does Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Gimignano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Gimignano is not rushed.
Is Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Gimignano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Gimignano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Gimignano and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half-Day Horseback Ride in Tuscany start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Gimignano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in San Gimignano?
+
On Outty we rank every San Gimignano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tuscan Cooking Class, Wine and food tasting in an organic family winery, San Gimignano Wine Tasting & Tuscan Dinner at a Local Winery. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit San Gimignano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in San Gimignano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
