What you'll see and do
Kampong Phluk Floating Village
We'll start this tour by driving 30km southeast of Siem Reap town to Kampong Phluk. Although known as a floating village, it's not strictly ture. The houses here don't float, instead they sit on top of tall stilts. There are around 700 families living here and they are 100% ethnic Khmer. They make their living by fishing and farming the local area. Along the way, we'll stop at a beautiful local village to see the rice paddy fields with cows and buffaloes. Most of the houses at Kampong Phluk are on land, built on top of 8m stilts to protect them from flooding in the monsoon season when the water rises. They are made of a special type of wood which is durable in both dry and wet weather. The main houses are made of wood, palm leaves and with a tin roof. You can see floating fish farms, a crocodile farm, house shops and mobile boat shops too. There is also a flooded forest area to visit. The tour is available all year round but it takes a little longer to reach there in the dry season.

Very Interesting Tour
Seeing the floating village was unlike anything I have seen before. It was interesting to see how people live and learn about when the village is flooded and when it is dry.
Response from the operator: Dear Chole, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're thrilled to hear that visiting the floating village was such a unique and insightful adventure for you. It's fascinating to witness the daily lives of the residents and understand the challenges they face with the changing water levels. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable experiences in the future! Best regards Bunpheng Angkor Doors Team

Interesting trip
The trip was really interesting and great to get an insight into life outside the city. Brilliant local guide (from a floating village himself) with excellent English and great sense of humour. Was lovely to speak to some of the local children and help them practise their English.
Response from the operator: Dear sir/madam, Thank you for the review, we think you leave to wrong tour guide because we did not use floating village local guide. All our tour guide from professional licensed tour guide.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.
How much does Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.
Is Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Floating Village (Kampong Phluk) & Tole Sap Lake Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?
+
On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siem Reap?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
