Our Sunset Cruise
The customer service was excellent from the time we were picked up at our hotel, on our water taxi to the catamaran. The crew was so friendly, accommodating, and throughly explained what we’d be doing. The boat was gorgeous, fully stocked with whatever you wanted, We arrived at our snorkeling location, geared up, slid down a slide to get into the water and away we went. The water temperature was great, clear water, beautiful fish, and we saw an El Ray, a shark, sea turtle and it was like watching a Disney movie. As we were departing we were treated to a tasting bbq chicken, beans, rice, salsa, fresh fruit and chocolate chip cookies. This is a must do excursion. Pura Vida
Response from the operator: Thank you, thank you, thank you. we can't thank you enough for the excellent and accurate review. That is what we try to do every day on our catamaran, sailing, snorkeling & sunset cruise. We are so happy that you were able to enjoy the complete experience that we offer and our crew will be ecstatic to read it. We have many more tours and hope that you will be able to enjoy some of them. Thank you again, we are always at your service for everything in Costa Rica. Warm Regards & Pura Vida.

Awesome afternoon on the water
We travelled during shoulder season and this was the best activity. The catamaran had a capacity of 75 and there were 20 of us onboard. The crew provided awesome service the entire time. Not only was it an open bar but they brought drinks right out to us on deck the whole time. The food was fantastic, not your typical excursion type food. The private beach was so neat. Calm water lots of fish during snorkeling even saw a pufferfish which I haven’t seen elsewhere yet. Overall, a great experience - 100% recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you Jeffrey, wonderful, we really appreciate your accurate review of our catamaran sailing-Sunset, snorkeling tour. The private beach is only accessible by boat and it's always calm with a lot of fish. I will be sure to let the crew know that they are doing an excellent job. Hopefully you will have time to enjoy some of our other adventure tours. Thank you again, best regards & Pura Vida.

Beautiful, private, and well done
We had such a good time. Not only did we have great piña coladas on the boat, but the snorkeling experience was amazing. We were on the most beautiful private beach and saw dolphins, blowfish, stingray, and many other types of fish while snorkeling. The food was good and we met some other great travellers on this experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so happy that you took your time to write it. We will pass it along to the crew I can assure you they will be delighted. We offer a lot of tours and this one is by far one of the most popular and enjoyable. When I have friends & family visit I always make sure they go on this tour, particularly families with young ones. Many say it was the highlight of their trip to Costa Rica. Thank you again, safe travels and PURA VIDA>

Absolutely wonderful experience
We met Javier on the beach easily. The trip was one of our favorite activities of our whole trip. The whole crew was very welcoming and made the day so much fun. The food was wonderful (a big meal compared to the "light lunch" described). The ride was beautiful. The snorkeling was fantastic, we felt safe and like the whole trip was well organized. The open bar was a wonderful treat, and even my teenage son really enjoyed the smoothies.
Response from the operator: "Absolutely" a "wonderful" review, thank you so much. You made our day. Our trips have about 10 parts and you enjoyed them all and we are so happy that you and your family had such a wonderful experience. I will pass your comments along to Javier and the other crew members. Hopefully you will have time to enjoy some of our other tours, Thank you again, warm regards & Pura Vida.

This was a wonderful...
This was a wonderful experience! The crew on the boat were so kind and accommodating, they were constantly checking in to see if we needed anytbing. The boat was clean and spacious despite all the people on board. The boat docked at a private beach where we were able to swim and snorkel. I would highly recommend this experience!!
Response from the operator: Great review, thank you for pointing out how good our crew and boat are. We (and the crew) work hard to have a great experience for our clients and we are happy you were able to enjoy the tour. Please enjoy some of our other tours if you have the time, Thank you & Pura Vida.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Hermosa.
How much does Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Hermosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Hermosa is not rushed.
Is Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 96 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa Hermosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise?
+
Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Hermosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Hermosa and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guanacaste Snorkel and Sunset Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Hermosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Hermosa?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Hermosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sloth Wildlife Experience, Coffee, Chocolate & Waterfall, Guachipelin Adventure Volcano Zipline River Tubing Combo, Adventure in Volcano Combo Tour! - Zip Line, Waterfall, Hot Springs and More. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Hermosa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Hermosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
