North Carolinians had a great day!
Siviany was a wonderful guide. He was very informative and worked very hard to ensure a pleasant and rewarding trip. We saw lots of wildlife, but the highlight was when we saw a sloth in the road, and the driver pulled over, we all got out, and Siviany very carefully picked up the sloth, held it for us to see, and safely carried it in the direction it had been going, placing it carefully a ways off the road. We had a lovely lunch with Mara, who taught us how to make corn tortillas with cheese. Hospitality was wonderful and food was delicious. Perfecto! Muchas gracias!!
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your adventure story with us. This is a great mix of Nature and Culture, all in one half day adventure in Arenal Volcano Zone. We do think that Mara deserves a grammy or maybe a Michelin star not only for the handmade food but also for the magic she has for teaching how to make the best tortillas. We hope to see you again soon. Pura Vida. Wave Staff

Don’t miss this one. Class act, friendly, knowledgeable- Thank you Carlos and Luis!
What a great family activity! Perfect for our party of 10, getting a private tour, that felt like it was customized for us. Carlos and Luis were lovely. We even saw Luis on an afternoon hike with another group and we were greeted like old friends, and his favorite group of all time. We stopped along the river to see all of the wildlife and become better at spotting them. Learned a ton about the ecosystem. The youngest is a very young for his age 10 yr old. Also ages 12, 13 and 14- which can be challenging in their own way. All were fully engaged. 4 45-55 yr old parents and 2 young grandparents. A few of us are more adventurous than lazy rivers, but this was beautiful and we didn’t feel left out from adventure. On to tortilla making Dona Mara. What an amazing time, to make our own tortillas the traditional way in a traditional home then be treated to Dona Mara’s fabulous cooking! You should not miss this tour.
Response from the operator: Thanks for this amazing review, and for taking your time to share with people your WAVE experience. We´re glad to hear that you enjoyed your nature and culture combo tour of Nature Safari Float & Dona Mara. Happy Holidays!. The Wave Staff.

Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Hermosa.
How much does Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal cost?
+
Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Hermosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Hermosa is not rushed.
Is Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Hermosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Hermosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Hermosa and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Nature Safari Float and Tortilla Making Tour from La Fortuna-Arenal start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Hermosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Hermosa?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Hermosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include La Leona waterfall adventure hike half day, White Water River Rafting Class III-IV from La Fortuna-Arenal, Guachipelin Zipline, River Tubing, Horseback Ride, Hot springs & Lunch Combo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Hermosa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Hermosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
