About this experience
Beyond just a lesson, our sessions are a gateway to a vibrant community. We foster a high-energy environment at a hidden "gem" surf spot, away from the crowds, where the joy of surfing is multiplied by sharing it with others. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to a full 2-hour experience starting from the moment we reach the sand, ensuring an unhurried, focused session. By maintaining a strict 1:6 instructor ratio, we provide the dedicated attention and personalized feedback usually reserved for private lessons. You’ll enjoy the "good vibes" of catching waves with new friends while receiving hands-on support tailored to your progression. It’s a shared adventure where every breakthrough is celebrated by the crew—the perfect way to learn, improve, and connect! Good to know: To ensure a safe, focused environment, group lessons are open to surfers aged 14 and up.

Group surf lesson
Brilliant service from start to finish. Extremely friendly and enthusiastic staff. Instructor was experienced and took the time to offer individual advice as to how you needed to improve throughout the lesson

Cannot recommend Surf Life Tenerife more highly!
I can't speak more highly of Surf Life Tenerife! I've taken lessons all over the world (Lombok, Algarves, Costa Rica, etc.), and as a beginner trying to get into the intermediate group, it's important for me to find schools with good instructors (or it just reinforces bad habits and makes surfing frustrating), and I feel like I became a significantly better surfer over 3 days, learning how to read the waves and figure out which wave to take, and I was finally getting up on the board by myself consistently without a push! Tommy is an amazing instructor - super encouraging and giving good tips and pointers. I feel like I built up a lot of confidence in my surfing skills during this surfing holiday. The communication to book my private and group lessons were easy, and everyone at Surf Life Tenerife was so nice and friendly. Surfing with this school really made my experience in Tenerife memorable.

Amazing
What an amazing surf shop! We spent two weeks surfing in Tenerife and tried several surf schools, but Surf Life was by far the best! All of the instructors were incredibly helpful, patient, and always made sure everyone felt supported. A special thanks to Giulio and Dani – they have so much experience and a great eye for detail. Thanks to them, we learned so much in just six days of surfing and had an incredible time riding the waves. A huge thank you to the entire Surf Life team! We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this surf school to anyone looking for a fun, professional, and unforgettable surfing experience. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🏄🏼♀️nadin🏄🏼♀️🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Great time with Surf Life
Excellent experience at Surf Life. We got a 2 hour paddle boarding session for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Maria Luisa was exceptionally helpful and friendly throughout, and made sure that everything was arranged for us. Guillermo was a fantastic instructor. We all had a brilliant time - great fun, even for those of us who struggled to keep balanced! Would highly recommend.

Amazing Experience!
Huge thanks to Samu and Leo for being incredible surf instructors, learned so much and had a blast in the water. Shoutout to Giulia for capturing the perfect moments with some truly great photos, and to Maria Luisa for the amazing hospitality and making everything feel so welcoming. 10/10 highly recommend this school!

Why this scores 86
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Group Surf Lessons: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Group Surf Lessons cost?
+
Prices start at $53 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Group Surf Lessons take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Group Surf Lessons worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 334 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Group Surf Lessons?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Group Surf Lessons suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Group Surf Lessons?
+
Around 117 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Group Surf Lessons start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
