Church of St. John The Baptist
Gozo's famous church dedicated to St John The Baptist. This Baroque style church, designed by Italian designer Giuseppe Damato has the 3rd largest dome in Europe (75 metres high). Inspired by the Santa Maria della Salute church of Venezia, this 'church within a church', took more than 20 years to build and was funded by locals. It was built around the outside of the former church, which is now a museum inside. An additional fee gets you access to the museum + lift, taking you up to the roof, for a walk around the circumference of the dome, for a 'birds-eye'view of Gozo.

Extremely Disappointing Experience and No Customer Support Afterwards
We booked the Blue Lagoon and Gozo UTV Tour through a representative named Claire at our hotel. She described it as one of her favorite excursions, so we felt confident booking it despite the relatively high price (€85 per person). Unfortunately, the experience was poorly organized from beginning to end. The first issue occurred immediately after arriving at the harbor. We were told someone would call us by name, but nobody showed up. After waiting more than 30 minutes, we had to contact Claire ourselves before eventually being allowed onto a boat. Things became even worse when we arrived in Gozo. Once again, nobody was waiting for us. No staff member knew who we were, and nobody seemed aware of our booking. We spent another 30 minutes searching around the marina looking for assistance, followed by an additional 30–40 minutes waiting in the sun with no information about what was happening. We were then transferred between different employees, none of whom seemed properly informed about our reservation. Eventually, we met a guide near the Citadel who openly admitted he had not been told we were joining his group and was already handling other guests. As a result of all these delays and organizational failures, we were given less than ten minutes to visit the Citadel, one of the main attractions of the tour. The most frustrating part is that this was our last day in Malta. We lost valuable vacation time dealing with confusion, waiting, making phone calls, and trying to locate staff instead of enjoying the excursion we had paid for. After the tour, I sent a detailed complaint directly to the company requesting a refund or at least some form of compensation. The company never responded. Not even an acknowledgment of the complaint. What made the situation even more disappointing was the response from Claire, the representative who sold us the excursion. After all the issues we experienced, she stated that the situation was not her responsibility because she “only sells the tours.” As customers, however, we purchased the experience based on her recommendation and through her direct assistance. Being redirected and having nobody take ownership of the problem only added to our frustration. Mistakes can happen in any business. What truly disappointed us was the combination of poor organization during the tour, the lack of accountability when problems occurred, and the complete absence of customer service afterwards. For a tour marketed as a premium experience, the service fell far below reasonable expectations. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company.

A fun day out
Good fun driving in convoy along public roads but very safe as the guides made sure junctions were controlled. A good mix of sights to see but would have preferred a bit more "off road" but I guess they are restricted by what is avaiable. The intro and safety briefing was excellent and the price was reasonable. All said, a fun day out.

Wonder ride and...
Wonder ride and sightseeing in Gozo. Tour guides were excellent and kept things on time and safe while driving the streets.

Fun full day activity wide ranging trip, we highly recommend it.
A full on day of varied travel, many bus, ferry, off-road buggies (also on road) and small tour boats. Buggies and quads following expert guides around Gozo seeing all the highlights and experiencing the fun drive. Three course lunch and mid afternoon drink. Combined with several highlight view spots and tour boat trip of sea caves. A good package and our group was a good mix of ages, all looking to enjoy the day

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mellieha.
How much does Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mellieha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mellieha is not rushed.
Is Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 64 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mellieha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride?
+
Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mellieha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mellieha and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Gozo Full Day Buggy Tour with Boat Ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mellieha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mellieha?
+
On Outty we rank every Mellieha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Tour Around Malta, GOZO & Blue Lagoon Jeep Sunset Safari (Comino cave tour), Gozo Full-Day Jeep Tour with Private Boat to Gozo & return. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mellieha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mellieha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
