Exploring beautiful Alaska
I booked with Welcome Anchorage Tours, and overall I had a wonderful and memorable experience exploring Alaska. I especially want to recognize Amy, the tour operator, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She assisted me with booking my Alaska Wildlife adventure experience at the Conservation Center tour and she helped me arrange my Matanuska Glacier experience, and even provided me with the link to book my Anchorage Trolley Tour. Her assistance made planning several parts of my Alaska visit so much easier, and I truly appreciated her kindness and willingness to help. The two hikes during the wildlife adventure tour were unforgettable the water fall hike and the glacier view hike 😍 Also Seeing the bald eagles, including a mother eagle at her nest and hearing the young eagles calling, the beautiful waterfall, and all the magnificent scenery surrounding us were some of the highlights of my Alaska experience. 🦅🏔️ I also want to recognize our driver, Mark. He was extremely patient, particularly when some members of our group did not return to the van at the designated times. He was an excellent driver navigating the narrow roads, and I was impressed by his ability to point out scenic locations and interesting sights while safely driving us through some challenging areas. I did, however, have one significant disappointment. We did not stop at the Beluga Whale viewing area along Turnagain Arm, which, for me, was one of the most unique locations on our route. I specifically asked if we could stop, even briefly, so I could take a photograph, but unfortunately we continued without stopping. What made this particularly disappointing was that earlier we had spent more than half an hour waiting in line while different groups ahead of us took turns having their photos taken while feeding a moose. I understand that different activities appeal to different travelers, but I would have much preferred that some of that time had been used for even a brief stop at the Beluga Whale viewing area. Missing such a beautiful and uniquely Alaskan location felt like a lost opportunity. Despite that disappointment, the bald eagles, waterfalls, hikes, wildlife, and spectacular scenery made this an experience I will remember for a very long time. I am especially grateful to Amy for going beyond this particular tour and helping me organize several wonderful experiences during my visit to Alaska, and to Mark for safely guiding us through a long and beautiful day.

Great up close tour with wildlife & a glacier! Easy Hike too!
We absolutely enjoyed this tour! We had thought about cancelling as we had been on a train and 2 bus tours in recent days. However, we were flying out of Anchorage late that evening so figured, what else would we do?!! So very glad we decided to go ahead and do the tour...bonus was it was a large comfortable van not a bus! We visited a quaint bakery for coffee and sweets, and then went to see a small secluded pond that was just beautiful against the mountainside. Gorgeous water color, perfect photo stop! Next stop, the Alaska Conservation Center. Wow! That was a beautiful place to get out and walk and see the wildlife up close. We had plenty of time to go at our own pace and for those that didn't want to walk, the van could drive around to see everything. Our last stop was a hike back to a glacier. Again, our driver/guide delivered on another beautiful spot! Our lunch at BaseCamp near Alyeska Ski Resort was yummy. Anchorage was our last stop after being in Alaska for cruise/land tour. So it was great way to end our trip! We were absolutely very happy we did this tour and would definitely recommend it for anyone!

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Anchorage.
How much does Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $177 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Anchorage usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Anchorage is not rushed.
Is Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 416 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Anchorage, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour?
+
Around 146 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Anchorage can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Anchorage and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Glacier View & Wildlife Anchorage Adventure Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Anchorage within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Anchorage?
+
Anchorage is the staging point for glacier cruises out of Whittier and Seward, Denali flightseeing, wildlife conservation centre visits, dog sledding and northern lights chases in winter. Long transfer times make itinerary honesty essential. On Outty we rank every Anchorage experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include PRISTINE - Wilderness, Wildlife, Glacier Experience in Anchorage, Anchorage Trolley's Deluxe City Tour, Anchorage Trolley's 1-Hour City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Anchorage?
+
June to August for glaciers, September to March for aurora. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Anchorage?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
