What you'll see and do
Fondation Claude Monet
This half-day trip will lead you to the edge of Normandy, where you will visit the idyllic home of Claude Monet located in the small village of Giverny. Your tour, will start from Paris City Center where your guide will pick you up at your hotel or private apartment. You will be transported aboard a deluxe vehicle with one of our guides, so you can, relax and make the most of your trip. Once at destination in Giverny, you will enjoy time in the gardens which have been replanted as they once were and offer visitors the “painting from nature” which Claude Monet’s contemporaries considered to be one of his masterpieces. The rectangular Clos Normand, with archways of climbing plants entwined around brilliantly colored shrubs, lies before the house and studios, offering from Spring to Autumn the palette of varying colors to the painter-gardener who was “ecstatic about flowers”. Lastly, the Water Garden, formed by a tributary of the Epte, lies further away, shaded by weeping willows. With its famous Japanese Bridge, its wistarias, azaleas and its pond, it has once more become that casket of sky and water which inspired the pictorial universe of the water lilies. You will also have the opportunity to discover a precious collection of Japanese engravings displayed in several rooms, hung in the marmer chosen by the master of Giverny himself. Claude Monet’s property at Giverny, left by his son to the Académie des Beaux-arts in 1966, has, after completion of large scale restoration work, become the Claude Monet Foundation, inaugurated in 1980. The huge Nymphéas studio, a stone’s throw from the house, has also been restored and contains the Foundation’s Shop. Then before leaving the village of Giverny, pay a last tribute to this universally acclaimed artist, at his grave.

Very enjoyable experience
Our private half day tour was excellent. Our driver/Guide was informative and personable. By going in the morning we missed the huge crowds and half a day was just the right amount of time. The private tour is expensive but if you can afford the splurge it is worth it. You get picked up at your hotel and everything is convenient and easy. Recommended.

5 star 1/2 day private tour from Paris to Giverny
Michelle was a fantastic guide. Extremely knowledgeable and amazing with our two young kids. We wish we would have had her for a tour guide for every trip we took. Thank you for a great day.

Not a Good Company
Our trip was canceled last minute because they couldn’t find us a driver that didn’t have Covid supposedly. And they still charged my credit card $850. I am now having to waste my time on the phone trying to prove why we didn’t go on the trip to get refunded.
Response from the operator: Bonjour Ryan, As you know 2022 was a recovery year for us all in the Tourism Industry. We are really sorry we had to cancel your tour on a very last minute notice. Like most companies in our business, Human resources has been quite difficult to handle especially when having Drivers or Drivers/Guides who are reporting sick very last minute. Unfortunately for you, we had to cancel your tour, but fortunately for your health, we have enforced a strict COVID-19 screening on all of our staff which led us to cancel your trip. As far as the charge on your credit card, please note that we never had your money and if you have to claim money from someone you should deal directly with VIATOR whom you paid when reserving the tour. We are sorry to hear that you had to waste time on the phone to prove things when we did everything in the first place to ask VIATOR to provide you with a full refund. As far as the "Not a good company" is concerned, are you talking about "VIATOR" who took time to process the refund to your credit card, or about us "Paris TRIP", though we made sure not to provide a service with a Driver/Guide tested positive to COVID19? You might want to think twice about it and I am sure you know we meant well when taking the decision to cancel. Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to tell others how much we care about their health. Arnaud

Lovely escorted half-day tour to Giverny
We booked this tour online before we left the U.S. and weren't sure what to expect, so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the office to find we were the only people on the tour! Isabelle was our driver/guide, excellent in every way. We climbed into a nice air-conditioned van and were off. En route she provided some commentary—the drive took about an hour. Once off the highway she navigated along some country lanes and, voilà, we were at Monet’s famed house and gardens. She got our tickets and escorted us inside, where she showed us around the large and impressive water-lily gardens. She then left us alone for about 1.75 hours to explore on our own. The gorgeous gardens are vast and lush, planted with seemingly endless varieties of flowers and trees. It was enchanting and we took our time wandering the paths around the iconic pond, admiring many reflections and vistas. Inside the house we passed through the atelier, bedrooms, hallways, dining room, and kitchen, decorated with period furnishings and reproductions of Monet’s paintings, plus Japanese prints by Hiroshige, Hokusai, etc. We finally wound up in the gigantic gift shop, which formerly was the master’s studio, illustrating the huge amount of space needed to paint the large-scale water-lily panels of his late career. Isabelle kindly drove us back to a Paris taxi stand so we didn't have to return to the office. This tour was well worth every cent, and we sincerely thank Isabelle and Paris Trip.

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.
How much does Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris cost?
+
Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.
Is Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Giverny Private Half-Day Trip including Claude Monet' Gardens & House from Paris start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Paris?
+
Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Paris?
+
April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Paris?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
