Can't wait to do it again in the fall.
My girlfriend and I have both lived in Wilmington a long time. On one of our date nights we took the Ghost Walk pub crawl. Went to a couple of places that we like, went to a couple of places that we never been to before but definitely will be back to. While hearing more details I didn't know about all the stories we heard as kids. It was an awesome night. And our wonderful tour guide Gina was a great story teller, funny and knowledgeable. 10/10 perfect date night activity.

Haunted Pub Crawl With Gina
July 16,2026 - Our first ghost tour experience in Wilmington, NC was at The Haunted Pub Crawl with Gina as our tour guide. We tried purchasing our tickets online yet had some difficulties. We went to The Black Cat Shoppe in person- an hour before the tour started - to purchase them in person and were able to get two tickets. We went to the site to meet our tour guide 15 minutes before the tour started as requested. It was not comfortable because it was hot at the meeting area outside. The tour guide came around 7:30 pm and introduced herself and got to know us. Before the tour started, we had to sign paperwork to claim that the business and tour guide was not responsible for any problems we had on the tour. Our tour guide Gina was a delight and gave us a theatrical performance throughout the tour. Not only was she dressed in a costume, she was always on cue and kept the tour interesting and short & sweet. She made sure all our accommodations were taken care of and had a microphone, so we could hear her throughout the tour. Throughout the tour, she offered to take photos and help as much as possible. There were three couples, six people in the group- 7 including the tour guide: Alex, Tyler, Rachel, Zoe, Bobby, O. , & Gina, the tour guide. We walked to four bars during the night hearing ghost stories and experiences from the energetic and ecstatic Gina. From the reviews I read, the tours go to different and various bars each time . On our tour we went to : Growler’s Tavern, The Rooftop Bar, Lula’s, and The Blue Post Bar. You purchase the drinks you like at each bar and congregate at a chosen area to hear the ghost stories from the tour guide. Only one bar had drink specials posted for us to see. Most of them were dive bars yet charming nonetheless. My favorite bar was Lula’s because it was small and welcoming. Tiffany made me a classic martini and chilled the glass for me. The ghost story Gina told me was my favorite as well. At the end of the ghost tour, Gina gave us her most intense stories of pirates and the ghost story of one of Wilmington’s most terrifying occupants, a violent female owner of a brothel with a mysterious & unsolved death. Other highlights in the tour: The creepiest place was at the theater area by The Rooftop Bar. The Rooftop Bar had the most spectacular aerial views of the sunset and Wilmington. The decor, games, pool tables, and drink specials in Growler’s Tavern. The sitting area in The Blue Post that use to be an open are alley walk way for prostitutes. The tunnel entrance in Lula’s , an underground dark pub, which was part of The Underground Railroad, where slaves escaped to gain freedom. Overall, we liked our haunted pub crawl, and we got ideas of places we would visit again in the future.

I've been on a lot of tours over the years, but Gina didn't just give us a ghost tour—she created an experience I'll be talking about for years. My future Sister In Laws Bachelorette weekend was started out with the perfect night spent with Gina! From the second she introduced herself, she completely captivated our group. Her storytelling wasn't just good—it was mesmerizing. Every historical detail, every ghostly legend, every dramatic pause was delivered with such passion, confidence, and theatrical flair that you couldn't help but hang on every single word. It felt less like a tour and more like stepping into a live performance where history came alive right in front of us. But what truly makes Gina exceptional can't be taught. Within minutes, she turned a group of complete strangers into what felt like a group of lifelong friends. She has a rare ability to make everyone feel included, comfortable, and genuinely connected. We laughed together, jumped together, and found ourselves completely immersed in every story she told. By the end of the night, it honestly felt like we were saying goodbye to someone we'd known for years. Her knowledge is astounding. Ask her a question, and she'll have an answer—and probably three fascinating stories to go with it. You can tell she has invested so much time into learning the history because she speaks about it with such authenticity and excitement. Her passion is contagious. The ghost stories were incredible, but Gina is what made this tour unforgettable. She has a gift that goes far beyond memorizing facts—she knows how to make people feel something. That's incredibly rare. If you're debating whether to book this ghost walk, stop debating and book it. And if you have the option to request a guide, request Gina. She is worth planning your entire evening around. I would take this tour again tomorrow just to experience it with her one more time. Five stars doesn't feel like enough. Gina deserves every bit of recognition she gets. Thank you!!!
