A day full of wine, beautiful places and stories

Such an original tour where you meet local Georgian people in their wineries and experience the famous Georgian hosptality. We had a ride through a beautiful region of Kakheti together with trying so many different types of wines and chachas. And the lunch we had in one on the wine yards was fresh and delicious homemade Georgian cuisine! Our guide Zura was opened and welcoming answering every small question and telling interesting stories. The tour was comfortable as we were driving in a new car and in the end were brought directly to our hotel. This was a great and fun trip to get to know Georgia, very much recommended

    Winter Wine

A very different experience from traditional European wine tasting sessions we have done in the past. This was a far more intimate and informative look into organic and traditional production methods on a non commercial level in the Kakheti region. From learning about how the clay fermentation vessels - Qvevri - are made to meeting the families that produce some fantastic and unique wines it a far more enjoyable experience to those we have been on previously. The wine makers were welcoming and more than happy to tell you everything about their wine with a passion. Each producer we visited were hospitable and offered several glasses of wine to taste and enjoy. Most sessions ended in a toast where we were offered Chacha, this is the local hard liquor similar in taste to a mild brandy. Beware some are double or triple distilled so can reach a chest warming 70% alcohol content. A hearty lunch was provided at the third vineyard which was an excellent offering of local dishes accompanied be their wine offering all of which were excellent. Our guide Zura was very accommodating and did well to decipher and translate our questions after we had several glasses of wine! The tour was well coordinated and ran as planned. Zura was also more than happy to offer suggestions for restaurants and other experiences within Tbilisi and the wider region. At each vineyard there is an opportunity to purchase wine made on smaller scale not readily available elsewhere. Expect to pay 35 - 40 Lari for a bottle so very much a worthwhile investment. We took this tour on our first day in Georgia and it was a fantastic introduction to the people, their culture and the country as a whole, we would highly recommend it.

    Amazing Wine Tasting!

It was a unique experience! Choosing Zura's tour was the best thing I could do. I learned a lot about the Georgian way of making wine. There were also many different wines and chachas to try. We had a really nice atmosphere with a lot of fun. The winegrowers were hospitable and it was nice to see such small wineries. The lunch was also super delicious and we could sit outside in the sun. little hint: If you want to drink each glass empty you should not have so many plans for the evening anymore :D

    Fantastic Day

From start to finish this was a brilliant day. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about Georgian wine. Each of the wineries we visited was a different experience and they were all very informative and had a big range of wines to taste. The wine was amazing, the food delicious and the chacha made the day go very quickly! Highly recommended!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tbilisi.

How much does Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi cost?

    +

Prices start at $213 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tbilisi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tbilisi is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tbilisi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tbilisi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tbilisi and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Wine Tasting Tour to Kakheti with Lunch from Tbilisi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tbilisi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tbilisi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tbilisi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tbilisi:Evening Walking & Talking Tour with Wine & Boat Ride, Tbilisi:Mtskheta,Jvari,Bazaar, wine tasting,Chronicles of Georgia, Kakheti Wine Region Tour + 10 Premium Wine Tastings & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tbilisi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tbilisi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
