    About this experience

We will take you to one of the most beautiful and mystical places that our country has to show you, where you will feel as if you had stepped out of a time machine. A wonderful place that transports us to a medieval era, full of palaces, chalets, a castle as a symbol of our history and, sometimes, a pleasant sea air with fragrant horse feces. About Cascais, we will take you to discover our most fancy and chic area. A place where, in the past, the international aristocracy - the kings and queens - hid from their institutional duties. A place where they could rest and contemplate the geographical beauty that surrounded them... It is such a chic place that the families that live there, even without money, live a luxurious life as if they were still living in an old monarchy. You will love this tour, not only for the surrounding landscapes but, above all, for the glamour that this place offers. The sunset there is something impossible to describe.

    Pleasant and enriching.

A very beautiful day in Cascais!! We did a complete tour of the city. We also did the tour of the Pena Castle and the tour of Lisbon by Tuktuk with the guides (who are French-speaking). Thank you to Felipe, Henrique, and Rita for their kindness and the little pieces of information that enriched the visit.

Response from the operator: Hi, Thanks a lot for taking the time to share your experience. It makes us super happy to know you had a great time on the tours and enjoyed discovering Portugal with our Buddies Filipe, Henrique and Rita. Hope to see you again for another adventure soon! All the best, The Portuguese Buddy

    Touring in comfort with Susana!

When we arrived in Lisbon, we walked around the city and took a random 1.5 hour TukTuk tour. While it was fun and allowed us to see much of the city, we didn't find it entirely comfortable (travelers were all age 50+) and knew we wouldn't enjoy a full day in Sintra traveling via TukTuk. Enter our van tour with The Portuguese Buddy! We traveled around Sintra and Cascais in a comfortable van with great air conditioning. Our tour guide Susana was incredible! She was so personable and knowledgeable. She brought us to the main attractions and many other hidden gems. She took great photos of our group and also made some fantastic restaurant recommendations! Her English was impeccable and her tour was the highlight of our visit to Portugal.

    Private Sintra Tour

We had a last minute change to our itinerary and were able to stay an extra day in Lisbon. Not having any plans and wanting to utilize every ounce of time we could here, we looked into private tours to Sintra. Susana got back to us fairly quick. We explained to her what we were interested in seeing, our time-frame, and what we had already done. She was informative, helpful, engaging, easy-going and just plain fun! The price was right, the tour was amazing and we learned so much about this beautiful area! If you are looking for a great tour of Sintra and surrounding towns, a friendly and fun guide and see off the beaten path places, look for Susana! Even though it is out of 5 stars, I would give her 10!

Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais cost?

    +

Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Tour to Sintra and Cascais start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
