What you'll see and do
Museo De La Muneca
At the Semi-desert area of Queretaro state, we are going to visit three beautiful magical towns, learning a little about foundation, ethnic groups, craft and religion. First will be Amealco de Bonfíl, where you will be surprised with the Doll Museum and the famous Otomi doll called Lelé which means baby in their language in addition to a 300 dolls exhibition from all over the world. The Town´s main square with buildings and temples of the XVII century, including Saint Mary´s parish surrounded by cobblestone streets and walkways.

Then at Bernal we are going to get inside of an old workshop with 18t century looms, where there still are making sweaters, quilts, rugs, ponchos, curtains and all kind of wool articles mainly without the use of electricity or modern technology in the way their ancestors taught them.

Tequisquiapan
At Tequis (Tequisquiapan regular name), we will be visiting the woven wicker and wood craft markets, Wicker is a natural fiber from a local bush that the Otomies an Purepechas learned to handle in order to create all kind of utilitarian and decorative items such as lamps, armchairs, tables, screens, furniture, baskets, garbage cans among many others.

Bernal
Ahh I forgot to say that first it is Tequis and then Bernal. At Bernal we will have the time to eat something if you feel like doing it, I will recommend the famous Gorditas stuffed with different stews, delicacies most of them such as cactus, pork, potatoes and the nopal on its grilled penca with cheese, bacon, onions.....a true delight to the palate. Later we will get to know the typical sweets, the cacti ice cream and the freshly baked bread filled wit strawberries, black berries, sweet milk and jaggery candy (piloncillo).

And then, once we are there, at Bernal, we have to visit the Temple of San Sebastian, located right there at the side of the main square because he is the Saint patron of the town. Built between 1700 and 1725 does not have architecturally speaking a defined style, however at the front façade we can see the Catholic and Indigenous syncretism, you will found out over there. It is a church built in the Roman Christianity style with a main nave an two lateral side naves, the same style of Saint Peter´s Rome Basilica.

Tremendous
Alex's love of history and passion for what he does is awesome. The tour was fantastic; we returned enriched, entranced and exhausted. Any tour with this gentleman would be worth it.

Entertaining and informative tour!
Alex was a great guide, friendly and helpful with my dad who needed to rest towards the end. His historical knowledge was deep and told with a flair that kept it interesting instead of dry information. We were introduced to the different artesanas and the history of their processes and traditions, stopped for lunch and a drink and toured at our own pace. And in the end he even returned to our hotel because I forgot something in the car. Definitely do this tour If you want a prívate guided experience with an intelligent and fun guide!

Magical town tour, guide shares lots of history
You get a private tour with Alex, your guide. He shares the history of 3 magical towns. Alex is a history buff and has A LOT to share. You can tell he likes his job and even goes into character as he relates a story. We enjoy learning Mexico's history so we liked his stories. It's OK to tell him you need a break to explore on your own. THINGS TO KNOW: It's an ALL day tour and there's traffic coming back so you get back to Qro. at 730ish, not 5pm. The 1st town Amealco is 8,500 above sea level so it gets cold. Towns are 45 min to 1 hr apart. The last town Bernal is the gem of the three, but we had less time there because there were many trivia-filled stops in the prior towns. Like all tours of this kind, the guides take you to their preferred restaurants, we enjoyed the restaurant in Amealco. The last town Bernal is your 2nd stop for food. I recommend that you research town food options before this tour and explore on your own. We found a great bakery there too called Abril. Overall a good history-filled tour.

Perfect trip for people who like history
This tour of three Pueblo Magicos - Amealco, Tequisquiapan, and Penal - was fantastic. My guide, Alejandro, was punctual and knowledgeable. The drive between locations was comfortable, taking about 45 minutes to an hour each. Alejandro shared the history of the Aqueduct of Querétaro before we left the city and provided insightful walking tours at each stop. Alejandro is a wonderful historian, and this tour is perfect for those interested in both the sights and the history.

Amazing day visiting pueblos mágicos
Really fantastic day with Alejandro! All 3 pueblos mágicos were great, and Alejandro had so much cool information to share about architecture and linguistics. He even happily took us to Starbucks after picking us up.
