    3. Floyd's Pelican Bar

Floyd’s Pelican Bar is a legendary little wooden bar perched on stilts in the middle of the sea off the south coast of Jamaica, near Parottee Bay in St. Elizabeth. The bar is super rustic—built from driftwood, old pallets, and scrap materials—and feels like something straight out of a castaway dream. No roads, no Wi-Fi, no rush. Just turquoise water, pelicans gliding overhead, reggae vibes, and ice-cold Red Stripe beers. Floyd (the original owner) named it after the pelicans that used to gather on the sandbar. You can swim right around the bar, snorkel nearby, or carve your name into the wood like thousands of visitors before you. The food is simple and fresh—usually grilled lobster, fish, shrimp, and festival—caught the same day. It’s famous for being: One of the coolest bars in the world Totally off-grid and cash-only A must-visit for chill, adventurous travelers

The only company we will use for our next trip to Jamaica!

This is the 3rd time we booked with this company. They are just the best! Attentive, communicative, courteous and flexible. Private tours is the way to go and they were happy to customize it to our liking and off the wall requests. We will only use them next time we are back to Jamaica!

So glad we did this excursion

I am so glad that my girlfriend and I did this trip. This was a private excursion so Rayon was with us from 8:30 am to early evening. He made sure we had enough time to enjoy the YS Falls, the Black Water River tour and for a couple of drinks out in the middle of the ocean at Floyd's Pelican Bar which was such a cool spot. I absolutely recommend using Rayon and his company to tour Jamaica. His local knowledge of the people and the wonderful places around Negril and western Jamaica in general was invaluable and made our trip so much more enjoyable. Having a private guide of Rayon's caliber was well worth the cost of this day trip. Thank you Rayon for a wonderful day in Jamaica. :) Mark and Ja'Leesa

Response from the operator: You are most welcome my friend and thank you so much for booking with alohajamaicatours we make you comfort our responsibility see you next time for more adventures with us .

Fabulous tour with a fabulous guide (Rayon)

Fantastic tour with our knowledgeable guide Rayon, who really made this trip special. From our pick up at the hotel to dropping us off in the evening, nothing was too much trouble and we felt really looked after. The tour itself was fabulous too and well worth the money (it may not be cheap but I would highly recommend it as it’s great fun and provides an insight into some of Jamaica’s most beautiful sites). YS Falls was my personal favourite. We loved the fact that you could swim anywhere, there were only a few people so no crowds despite it being Christmas and at the end laze about at the pool to dry off. Make sure you bring mosquito stuff. Black River was great too, lots of crocs, one of my sons even touched the biggest beast. The Pelican bar is a proper chill out place. I just wished I had brought our snorkels!! I would highly recommend Aloha Tours, they were very professional, punctual and flexible (we managed to stop at a supermarket). Great communication too, if you do go on this trip ask for Rayon. He really made our day special and was great fun, just what you need when you are on holiday!

    BEST DAY EVER!!

This was the best tour of our entire trip to Negril. Rayon was amazing. He went out of his way to make our day not only fun, but personally helped immerse us in Jamaican culture. We were never rushed. Instead, Rayon encouraged us to take our time and really enjoy our experiences. YS Falls was breathtaking. Floyd's Pelican Bar (although drink prices were high) was absolutely stunning. The views were unreal...it survived Hurricane Berryl! We definitely will return to Jamaica and will only book with Rayon and Aloha Jamaica Tours! Our daughter will never forget her first fresh coconut water, roadside mangos, and the smell of lemon grass! What a spectacular day!

Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negril.

How much does Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $231 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negril usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negril is not rushed.

Is Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negril, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negril can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negril and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day South Coast - YS Falls, Pelican Bar & Black River Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negril within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Negril?

    +

On Outty we rank every Negril experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Negril Glass Bottom Boat Tour Snorkeling and Booby Cay, Private Airport Transfers to Negril Hotels, Transportation and Tour from Montego Bay to Blue Hole/Secret Falls. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Negril?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Negril?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
