    Exceptional tour guides

20 out of 10!! Very nice guys very professional and know the area very well. We loved everything. Snorkeling, and booby cay with rain and all was a wonderful experience thanks to our guides. We brought our own liquor, speaker for music and towels highly recommend this for anyone going as well.

Beautiful snorkeling but unprofessional and disappointing otherwise

Jason got us around safely and punctually. We appreciated him playing music we requested and the snorkeling was beautiful. However, the service was not very professional. On the boat, he tried to make fun of the elderly German passenger with us, and he didn’t really answer any wildlife questions. For example, when asked “Have you noticed a change in the coral reef during the 9 years you’ve been doing this?” He just said “No.” When asked about what specific fish we might see, he made a finding Nemo joke. Jason made fun of us in Patois with his friends on the island, saying he just messes with all of us (customers) and doesn’t care. When I asked a fruit vendor to “take it easy please” for putting his hands on my wife, Jason laughed loudly and stirred up his friends, provoking the vendor to get even more aggressive and angry. He didn’t allow the young man assisting him (who led the whole snorkeling portion and was very nice) to speak, answering for him, “His name is Raven”. We try to appreciate our position of privilege as vacationers in Jamaica right now and we are reluctant to criticize in the context, but the lack of respect and professionalism crossed a line here. There are so many kind people and great experiences to be had in Negril, like the river boat tour we went on the next day. My advice is to spend your time and money elsewhere.

    NO SHOW!!!!!

We were at the entry to the parking lot at our hotel 5 minutes before the pickup time. We waited for an additional hour. The driver did not arrive!

Fabulous tour on the Lucky Duck!

Captain Jason and Damien were first class hosts. We were very pleased with our trip along the coast and a generous stop for snorkeling. Then off to Booby Cay for a delicious lunch.

    Have had better experiences.

Guide didn’t speak to us almost the whole trip. No guidance, no information, no interaction… until he thought he might sell us a lobster from the island (which was completely trashed from a party the night before). When he did speak he was nice. But it was a very awkward boat ride out. He didn’t get in the water to guide us through the reef, just gave us gear and pointed to where the reef was and sent us on our way. Then on the way back we got pulled over by the coast guard with AKs and he didn’t have his license on him. At one point during the police inspection my daughter and I legitimately considered jumping ship and swimming back to the resort. We were the only ones on the excursion and didn’t exactly feel comfortable and were questioning our safety. We have been on many snorkeling excursions but this one we cut short. On a positive note, the reef and fish were beautiful. Now maybe the guide was shy and the police inspection was a fluke, but ultimately the experience was not up to par with previous snorkeling excursions.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negril.

How much does Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negril usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negril is not rushed.

Is Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negril, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril?

    +

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negril can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negril and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Glass Bottom Boat Ride/Snorkeling/Booby Cay Island from Negril start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negril within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Negril?

    +

On Outty we rank every Negril experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Transportation and Tour from Montego Bay to Blue Hole/Secret Falls, Negril Glass Bottom Boat Tour Snorkeling and Booby Cay, ATV, Bamboo Rafting and Negril Ricks Cafe from Montego Bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Negril?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Negril?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
