Excellent company offering reasonable price access to wondrous sites
I contacted Outlander Tours to arrange a modified tour based tour and they were highly responsive and made the adjustments very simple. By the standards of getting a driver and guide and a customised tour, the price was extremely reasonable. My guide/driver was Raphael was extremely knowledgeable and affable and we had a wonderful discussion while on the roads. And the sites themselves were marvelous. I had plenty of time to get all the pictures I wanted and absorb the different atmospheres. Tomar is a bit more austere (apart from the riot of art that is its church) whereas Batalha is more ornate and flashy. Both are glorious. I substituted Alcobaca monastery for Tomar - not because Tomar isn't wondrous - but because I'd already been there on my own. I definitely felt the experience was well worth the price - I got a solid day amongst the monuments of Portugal's past, transportation that would have been otherwise difficult for a non-driver like myself, and Raphael definitely is an excellent guide. I would place the experience and the company as definitely in the upper tier.
Response from the operator: Hey Zach! Thanks for the very detailed review. We always try to be flexible so you can have the best experience. We believe that each person is unique, their likes and deslikes are always part of our planning. I could not have better company than yourself during this journey along historical Portugal and we feel happy to reach your expectations. We are already waiting for your next visit!

Is Full-day Private Transport to Tomar & Batalha from Lisbon worth it?
+

Is Full-day Private Transport to Tomar & Batalha from Lisbon suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-day Private Transport to Tomar & Batalha from Lisbon?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-day Private Transport to Tomar & Batalha from Lisbon start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
