Informative, secure, tour with a great lunch
Overall the tour was nice. The best part was our time in metro park and the neighboring park and the cable car. Perfect morning for it. The tour was informative though at times a bit much of standing in one place in the sun to discuss history. Our guide gave an amazing recommendation for lunch. I would’ve liked if Keith or someone reached out to us in advance on options for the day and timing. Other tours have done that and then expectations are aligned.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Your support means a lot to our team, and we’re delighted you enjoyed your time with us.

I cannot recommend Explore Chile Tours for English speakers.
I cannot recommend this tour company (Explore Chile Tours) for English-speaking tourists. We spent 10 days in Chile (Santiago, San Pedro de Atacama, Punta , and absolutely loved the country, sights, and people, but the communication from the company was lacking and the hotels they put us in in two of the locations were so far outside town that we had to arrange transportation. They switched 2 (of 4) hotels on us and while they did send a separate document showing those hotels before our final payment, they didn't update the itinerary that they sent us to reflect that, so we went to the wrong (very nice) hotel before realizing that we were in fact booked at a place way outside of town (San Pedro de Atacama). While there seemed to be tours that would have been in English, our group tours were generally in Spanish, and if we were lucky one of the guides would fill us in briefly in English. Our tour guide for the private Santiago tour (Alexis) was just learning English and really didn't seem to know all that much about Santiago - he was googling a lot. There were additional disappointments, but also overall the trip was good, so 3/5 rating (a "C" - I'm a teacher). Again, this company might be great for Spanish-speakers, but I would not recommend them to English-speaking tourists if you're doing more than going on a wine-tasting day trip.
Response from the operator: Hi Mathew, We are sorry to hear about the inconveniences during your trip. Unfortunately there was not many hotel options during those dates. We are glad to hear that you were able to enjoy Chile in spite of small inconveniences.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Private Guided Tour in Santiago City?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?
+
On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santiago?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santiago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
