Great wine tour with Evelyn and at Perez Cruz

Our tour guide and driver were great. The first winery we visited--Perez Cruz- was also great. We had lunch at Santa Rita which was great. Unfortunately, the wine tour and tasting was just not that good. They evidently can offer a premium tour, but would not allow our guide to make change. Not a lot of flexibility. Would recommend our guide and Perez Cruz but I would press for a premium tour at Santa Rita or ask for another location. Our guide, Evelyn was great and very knowledgeable. She said she had asked for more flexibility from the winer.

Response from the operator: Hello there. You have addressed your review to the wrong company. We do not offer that experience and we don’t have a guide called “Evelyn”. Our bike tour takes place in Isla de Maipo and in that bike tour we never visit Perez Cruz or Santa Rita. Those wineries are not in Isla de Maipo. You have not done a tour with our company: Maipo Valley Wine Tours. Please, be so kind to erase this review from our profile. Thanks a lot! Best wishes, Juan Juan

It was very authentic and exciting. Well chosen places. I especially liked the picnic by the eucalyptus tree. Great lunch. Highly recommended.

10/10 would recommend to everyone!

This was an incredibly unique and heartwarming experience. Felipe, our driver, and Gerald, our guide, began their incredible service even before the day of our tour with impeccable communication skills. Day of, they were early to pick us up and we could immediately tell they were warm souls. We picked up our bikes, which were excellent quality, and began our journey. The day consisted of such amazing wines, warm people, and perfectly curated experiences for us. It really felt super personalized and catered to my husband and myself. I speak better French than Spanish and found that the baker of our breakfast bread ant Connie’s place and Felipe both spoke French as well! This was such an incredible experience and I think one of the top 5 tours my husband and I have ever taken in our lives. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in wines (with some good exercise!). Gerald is also a sommelier and so educated about wines, which was greatly appreciated. Well worth the price.

Response from the operator: Hello again Shruthi! Oooh how nice to read that you found the experience “incredibly unique and heartwarming”. It is very rewarding for us that you appreciated warm souls but also Gerald’s sommelier expertise and the wines. And the bikes! Nice that you felt comfortable talking in French as well. What can I tell when you say that “one of the top 5 tours my husband and I have ever taken in our lives.” ?Truly very rewarding for all of us. I’ll congratulate Felipe, Gerald, Conny and her husband, Rodrigo, on your behalf. Thanks again and warm regards, Juan

Wine bike maipo valley

We had an excellent day with our driver Felipe and guide Gerald. Picked us up promptly at hotel in the am. Picked up bikes and gear and headed to first stop of Breakfast at a local artist and bakers home. This was a delightful breakfast with orange wine and a chance to dine with residents of maipo valley. The artist shared her works with us and the baker his bread making process. Wonderful, beautiful people. We then headed to de martino winery and biked through the vineyard stopping to share a bottle of wine with snacks in the vineyard. Next we headed to lunch at another local residence. A lovely spot but would recommend lighter food for the experience. We then biked to Santa Ema for wine tour and tasting of four wines. The itinerary was slightly different than in the description as we did not visit one of the wineries mentioned or receive a wine gift but overall the people and experience was very good. Accommodating if you want to bike the entire time or ride along with the driver.

Response from the operator: Hello Beth, I hope you’re doing great. Thanks a lot for your review. First of all, I hope Ashvin’s knee is fully recovered. We’re happy you enjoyed the experience and the company. I’ll congratulate Felipe and Gerald on your behalf. I’m sorry, due to the circumstances the guide decided not to go to Undurraga winery not to be in a hurry. We hope you liked the Premium wine Peumayen Gran Reserva Sirah from Undurraga we uncorked to compensate you a bit. Unfortunately, the gift glass is given in Undurraga tour. I’ll take note about the lighter food. Thanks again and best wishes, Juan

Wine tour by bike was fantastic.

I recommend this 100% if you like to sample local wines, especially from small batch of vineyards, and work in a day of moderate exercise. The food and stops were very authentic. The whole day had a very personal touch. I also learned a lot.

Response from the operator: Hello again Rick! Thanks a lot for your recommendation. We appreciate very much your comment about finding the experience authentic and with a very personal touch. That one of our goals. Also is very rewarding to know that you learned a lot. Thanks so much for your rating. Warm regards, Juan

Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.

How much does Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago cost?

+

Prices start at $319 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago?

+

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Private Maipo Valley Bike Tour and Wine Tasting from Santiago start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

+

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 vineyards from Santiago., Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Santiago: Valparaiso, Viña del Mar & Casablanca Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
