Awesome conservation center!

What an awesome conservation center very close to Siem Reap! Here, all the animals are rescued or extracted from the black market. Moreover, the AWA center is involved in several programs of conservation with partners and are responsible of hundred releases in nature. Theirs targets are: educate, inspire and conserve. Perfectively adapted to families, we learned a lot on the several species that are preserved here. Don’t expect a zoo, it’s not one. It’s a peaceful area which respects health animal. Take you time to enjoy the center as we did, have a break in the floating market for an Asian lunch. Il you want to add a positive impact on the Cambodian wildlife, come to visit the AWA center!

Observe rescued animals and contribute to preservation projects

We had a fabulous day at Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium, a wildlife conservation center that works in collaboration with researchers. The animals we were lucky enough to see had all been rescued from poaching or other forms of exploitation. The funds raised from visits are used for other conservation projects. The center releases animals that can survive in the wild (more than 300), but the others must remain in captivity and are well cared here, with suitable enclosures. There is plenty of interesting information to read about the animals, their conservation, and the environment in general. It's very engaging and therefore suitable for the whole family. Moreover, the place is beautiful and very peaceful, and the staff is very welcoming. It's well worth a visit!

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
