Great time Fly fishing for the first time!

Our family loves to fish, but had never tried fly fishing before. We thought this trip would be a great way to try it out, but we never thought this would be an experience of a lifetime! Our guide Brandon was the absolute GOAT. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and took four rookies and taught them how to fly fish! We caught 9 trout/whitefish, plus a couple that got away. Brandon also was an incredible steward of the river and super conscientious of how the fish were treated which made us very happy! Would highly recommend this trip if you want to have a great day on the water!

Response from the operator: Hi Liz, awesome to hear you had an amazing day with Brandon learning to fly fish! We're stoked to hear you guys caught so much fish and had fun while doing it! Thanks for spending the day with us on the river :)

    Great trip!

Had a great trip with Caleb guiding our boat and Ryan guiding a friends boat. 4 adults and 5 kids. All were first time fly fishing and they were great teachers. Both guides were great with the kids and everyone caught fish. Planning communication was great, on time meetup and got a full day on the water. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Hi there! We are so glad to here you and your crew had an amazing day learning to fly fish and even catching some fish! Thanks for leaving an awesome review and we hope you'll join us again!

We had a great time fishing the snake river with our guide Brendan. We had never fly fished before and we all caught several beautiful fish thanks to our guides constant instruction and help.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Group and Family Big Boat Fishing at Jackson Hole?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jackson Hole and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Jackson Hole?

    +

Jackson Hole is wildlife-first: sunrise safaris for moose, bison and bears in Grand Teton, Snake River floats, Yellowstone day trips and winter sleigh rides through the National Elk Refuge. Guide experience and optics quality separate the wildlife tours. On Outty we rank every Jackson Hole experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Snake River Scenic Float, 8 Hour Combination Snowshoe & Wildlife Viewing in Grand Teton National Park, Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Private Safari Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jackson Hole?

    +

June to September for hiking and floats, December to March for snow. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jackson Hole?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
